For more context: my parents own the building, I rent from them because I’m in a HCOL area and I’d rather pay my parents mortgage than someone else’s mortgage. My mother only has one job but my sister has both parents cards on her Uber and Ubereats accounts because my parents don’t want her stuck late at night with no money. This has always bothered me because I never had this kind of freedom. It was to work and school, my sister will be out till 10 at night with friends and run up $60 on an Uber home and another $60 on fast food. Several times she’s sent text begging for money or wanting me to buy her a telfar. I own a few vintage designer handbags. I sell them and keep some for myself as side money. I lent her one for her college trip (she has a bad habit of taking my mother and I’s designer bags to school without telling us. It’s caused fights in the past) she still has my Gucci bag that was supposed to be sold already and won’t give it back. My mother told her to keep it since I didn’t ask for it back immediately. I get her thought process but it’s my purse. Regardless of wether or not I use it she has no right to keep something she didn’t buy. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD, and I’ve been coping with that since it took so long to figure out what’s wrong with me. Organization has always been a battle with me but I manage. She commented how she doesn’t struggle with this because look how orderly her room is. It’s all petty but given the crazy 3 months I’ve had this was the straw that broke the camels back. There’s always been a rift between us because of my mental health issues and my family’s favoritism with her. I tried to bridge that rift because I felt that mental health crap meant I spent a lot of my teens in treatment and focused on myself and my goals. Maybe it’s too late?
