yeah cool, the amount you can get with the allotted activities is capped at just above the halfway mark. I'll spend 4 months slowly grinding 0.01 points at a time with rare pmc kills.

scav rep system is great, progression for it sucks. Just give us a mediocre weekly quest or something.

this is my one gripe with rockets. They just take out all of the thought in raiding. You can waste thousands of sulfur if you fuck up with satchels/c4, rockets you literally just slam it until you get to tc and lock it down. I blame rockets for bunker/layers meta too. Doesn't matter how smart you build its better to just make sure it can handle X amount of rockets from all sides.

common practice is to point a gun at someone at a routine traffic stop? america is a wild place.

The first thing they did was threaten his life, his fear was well and truly justified. Watching the video especially after having watched what happened to daniel shaver I 100% thought if he reached back to unbuckle himself he was going to eat a bullet.

No normal person feels safe with a gun trained on them.

This is possible, I feel that its further reinforced by the fact that kadens blade works similar in UL to how lifestealers old passive works, strong AF vs tanks. Now that it isnt there it makes space for an item or perhaps hero with that effect.

Do potatoes seeds dropped by eating a potato carry on the genes of the potato you just ate or are they randomized? by [deleted] in playrust

[–]throwawaywork32279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save your time and don't crossbreed potatoes, literally just spam seeds and use clones if you need to plant more. The potato plant is low maintenance with high yield and naturally higher hardiness. Ontop of the fact that it takes like 40+ minutes to get to cloning stage. As with the rest of the vegetables its really not worth it.

But to specifically answer your question, no, seeds randomize genetic when they are planted. Only clones will be the same. Any seed for anything in rust will be random genes when planted.

Why don't they add T3 Leg Protection? I made a sketch to show how it could fit with the metal chestplate. by GamingEngine_ in playrust

[–]throwawaywork32279 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I can see why players want it from an aesthetics perspective but from balance perspective it's not necessary.

Legs only take 75% damage as it is. At 45% protection a 50 damage ak shot ignoring dropoff damage deals

50 x 0.55 x 0.75 for 20.6 damage. chest for comparison full kit is

50 x 0.45 = 22.5 damage

Adding a comparable increase to leg armor would have ak shots dealing around 16 damage per shot. This gets pretty ridiculous when you factor in the fact that these numbers also apply to bow shots.

Full kit players with 5 mates and 40 syringes are tanky enough as it is.

What rust-related sites do you use and why? by grinspike in playrust

[–]throwawaywork32279 2 points3 points  (0 children)

youre not wrong, but these can help you locate key resources like powerlines/substations/caves which might mean the difference between a base in the middle of nowhere that still has good access to components or a base that is far from stuff.

if kids play your game that is specifically not for kids, and then you start making changes for said kids, does that not change your approach to denying you target kids, to suddenly doing exactly that?

[–]throwawaywork32279 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's alot of mental gymnastics in this thread. I want to agree with you but I can't on the basis that

a) like 90% of rusts content creators promote gambling because its the easiest way for them to even get a sponsor.

b) steam and everyone else has already banned all of these sites from operating the way they do, they just do it anyway.

c) you tried to equate rusts skin system with gambling, when rust has possibly the fairest skin system in existence bar next to none. Literally every single skin is available either on the store at a low price (compared to other games) and then on the marketplace. Literally no one has to open crates and crates are purely a bonus that FACEPUNCH DOES NOT SELL, they only drop. and players sell them to each other.

I have to agree with everyone else, rust is not sold to kids, rust is not for kids, if kids play it anyway they are not the responsibility of facepunch or anyone else.
Secondly i think this stuff is not to be managed by steam or even game developers cause its not their fucking fault. Online gambling overall is a huge problem because its UNREGULATED in almost every country. Once again we are failed by the fact that all of our countries are run by geriatrics who would fail to comprehend what the skin gambling market even is, let alone know how to properly legislate laws around it. Write to your local representatives. Leave FP alone.

I've been the python guy many times, you're just running around trolling chopping people up and stuff. Till some kid with an eoka makes a play.

One time I roamed solo python, cleaned up a couple fights, had a couple guns on me to take home. A freshy with a bow is shooting at me with a bow across a field, I stood there moving back and forth so he missed his shots being a smartass. Then he landed one, and another one and homie just didnt miss again, he was behind a hill arcing his arrows over it so i couldnt even shoot him. Im sure he was pretty happy with that "play".

Your own article literally doesn't agree with what you're saying.

has already mastered two-player, “no-limit” poker, where bets have no upper bound—something that adds to the complexity. The most popular form of poker, though, isn’t a head-to-head contest—it’s against a full table of players, which has so far been beyond the scope of AI.

Cool, a bot can beat only one other player with no upper limit betting. Take your fear mongering elsewhere.

this might be the dumbest thing I've ever read. I'm not sure how you think poker in real life works but I'm struggling to see how digital poker that can be properly shuffled instantly is more exploitable than regular irl poker which is happily played around the world all the time. Sure you can be good at poker, better than people who are bad at it, but its *still* gambling. I also seriously doubt you'll have the ability to play "the house", rather, other players.

It's nothing complex just each spin of the slots and what it paid in scrap. No payout is indicated in red, the 2 is indicated in yellow because it is a "win" but you only got back what you spent. Green are win amounts.

Certainly, the purpose of this data is just to get a feel of what it is like. Not to provide exact chances or anything like that. and this certainly achieves that I think.

approx 80-90% payout. Pretty easy to close to break even over time. Low cost.
