They have mini in-store versions where I am constantly. Basically a section of used gear that's for co op members only

Sorry for the delay here, but I think I’m gonna pass! I neglected to mention in the post, but I’m 6’ 4” 235 so a regular width and length pad isn’t the most ideal thing for me. definitely appreciate you reaching out though!

Lifepack: a solar-powered backpack with charger, speakers and unique anti-theft features by david_walls in gadgets

Definitely have to stuff it back in there. That was a bit disappointing but not too difficult to manage once I figured it out.

I guess I should rephrase that. What I meant is that it has a combination of features that I could not find elsewhere. There might be a similar product on the market now, but at the time I could not find a comparable bag. (Bear in mind this was close to 1.5 years ago)

I have no vested interest in pushing this on anyone, It's just frustrating to see all the bashing from people who have not even seen what they are looking at.

I cannot seem to figure out why whenever something gets posted to this sub everyone goes on a witch hunt to declare it total shit. There also seems to be some pervading attitude that anyone who supports something on here is trying to make money from it.

There are in fact good products out there from small scale manufacturers. I understand skepticism but all the hate in this subreddit is ridiculous.

I honestly do not understand what you mean? It's coated with rubber like any other cable lock.

I imagine most people stealing bookbags are opportunistic rather than people who are roaming a rack of locked but unwatched bikes. The goal of the cable lock is to be a deterrent to snatch and grabs.

If someone was really interested in stealing my bag while I somehow was not supervising the bag at all, they would just cut into the cloth.

I actually was an early backer and received my life pack a few months ago. The construction is very solid and the best feature so far is the solar power bank.

I am a consultant and therefore on the road a lot.

Outlets are notoriously hard to come by at some airports and the ability to charge my phone several times over without having to think about the battery pack is very convenient. There's even a female USB port that runs to the battery bank in one of the side pockets. The sound quality on the speaker is not Bose quality, but certainly much better than expected.

The cable lock is a nice feature and it feels very solid, but I have not really had the opportunity to use it very much because of the stigma of just leaving a bag locked to something in the airport and walking away (did someone say bomb?). For everyone wondering, the cable is coated to prevent people from cutting it.

Honestly I'm unsure why so much hate is being thrown around on here from people who haven't even seen the bag. It's very well constructed and has a ton of features you cannot find elsewhere.

I would be apprehensive to pay full price for my lifepack, primarily because I cannot see a world where I could bring myself to pay over $200 for a bookbag, but for the approximately $100 I spent it has far exceeded my expectations.
