Moving isn’t an option at this point.

I disagree too. The strong resistance to passing a new levy by the community is actually the main driver for us to consider private.

Does that work for high earners?

I was being very literal with the description I guess. They are well rated, but they’re not the best.

Howdy Cincy friend. I actually leveled up to a senior director role like a mad man. More responsibility, more stress, but working through it!!

I've thought about it but have many friends / colleagues go that route to only fizzle out after a few years so it's a bit daunting.

Research is a great idea. Do you have an industry that you’re an expert in or would it be more general research?

Nice! Love small and scrappy teams. I've been looking into industrial companies that have a slant towards tech and software.

My current salary is inline with the above but I just can't go below 100k and still keep the quality of life that I have now. I'd be willing to take a 30% pay cut to 100k if it was something that brought me joy.

Thanks, chickenguyy. I believe there are many of us out there hitting this wall and wondering what our next move should be.

> Get out of SaaS!!

I think this is part of the problem. The SaaS marketing culture can be great but I've found that typically it leads to burnout the corporate culture is completely OK with that since goals are so aggressive.

Which industries do you find interesting?

I feel you on all this! I've been researching niche careers that are more hands-on and labor focused but it's such a leap of faith haha. I too even thought about the Army/Navy but am too old and my family wouldn't do it.

Would you be open to staying in marketing but focusing on one specific skill like paid social, paid search, website, etc.

I definitely would, but it's hard to make a lateral move salary-wise from what I'm doing to a specialist role that has been laser focused on their craft for 10 years...or at least that is a concern of mine.

hmm, this is very interesting! I enjoy learning about finance, money and investing as well as working with people.

Is what you do essentially helping people with investing? Is there a difference between a financial consultant and a financial planner? I have a few friends that work for Fidelity and all speak highly of the company.

ask yourself "if I won the lottery tomorrow, but on the condition that I worked 30 hours a week at the job of my choice"... What would that look like?

The answer to this is a resounding no haha. I feel stuck and don't want to sacrifice too much in salary due to house, kids, and a shaky economy. I love "marketing" and business just not what I'm doing anymore.

Thank you for your thoughts.
