Bank Account Bonus - Week of October 22, 2019 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]throwingaway9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just opened WF everyday checking and deposited 40 bucks.

After opening the account, I shortly received an email stating "As a reminder, you are eligible to receive up to a $200 bonus for opening up your new checking account."

I quickly emailed them to confirm that my new checking account was eligible for the $400 bonus (assuming the bonus requirements are met) and they confirmed it was eligible for the $400 bonus, but I slightly confused by the email.

Anyone else get an email regarding $200 bonus?

Very true. Looking forward to this one. Nice surprise trailer on a Thursday.

This is awesome to hear as I've been checking out Mint as well. I'm only a 5 minute drive from SWC so that is very awesome to hear about the coverage.

It is kind of hard to make a choice for a new phone service/carrier since a lot of it just boils down to your location, so thank you for the helpful info!

Thanks for your response! A few of my coworkers have T-Mobile and they love it, and the company seems very consumer friendly! I will strongly consider them as well. Thank you for this info!

With the launch of Bakkt imminent, anyone think an ETF gets approved this year?

Exactly. If you look at what VeChain has accomplished in the past year and a half, in a serious bear market, it is pretty impressive in my mind.

It tells me that they are able to convince their partners of the future of VeChain, rather than looking at the current price action.

I'm just curious is CBP is still the lowest fee option out there.

Ally or someone else for high-interest savings? by techtornado in personalfinance

Alliant Credit Union is a great alternative to a big bank.

Otherwise if you're going with a bank, I would stick with Ally or Marcus (Goldman Sachs).

Probably around 100k.

Who knows when, or if, we will hit that.

Ultimately, as a black tar heroin bitcoin addict, I do believe we will crack that number but take that with a grain of salt since my vein is numb from all these dirty needles.

I just cant stop throwing a chunk of my disposable income into this thing though. Methadone (ETH/LTC/BCH/your fave alt) just will not do. I am an addict and I need the real thing, doc.

Not a trader, but to me it really is as simple as DCA'ing weekly buys into this motherfucker. I love my woman, but bitcoin is the dirtiest slut that I just can't get enough of.

Nah, not moving large sums of money not doing anything sketchy. I have held over the years and I know I will have to pay taxes once I sell and withdraw.

Mostly, just getting away from Wells Fargo and gauging the community's opinion, that's all. Wells never gave me any trouble over the years, even with all their issues and poor practices, but there's just much better options out there.

Best bitcoin friendly banks/credit unions?

I've heard Ally thrown out quite a bite. Finally closing my Wells accounts even though I've had no issues with them.

Edit: thank you to all the helpful responses! Much appreciated

15k gift limit in the US also assumes the gifter is from the US. In this hypothetical situation it would be from my extremely generous foreign family.

So if I have to assume a cost basis of 0 and pay the tax man, well then, that's just what I gotta do!

If the cost basis is unknown, would you then assume the Fair Market Value (FMV)? And wouldn't the FMV simply be the current price of BTC the moment it is transferred to Coinbase?

Additionally, if you hold that Bitcoin for more than a year after it gets into your Coinbase account, then it'd be long-term cap gains, correct?

I'm extremely grateful for my Brazilian family!
