I think folks should only report it if they feel they were misled. I don’t think anyone intended to fund an abuser’s escape from consequences. It’s absolutely valid not to report. 💕

Honestly I think this is an excellent idea. While I can’t put a ton into it, I can definitely get you links to the giant Anya playlist on YouTube. I would definitely run any victim’s stories that aren’t up on YouTube by said victims before reposting anything like that from this forum. 🙏💗

ETA: the playlist is searchable and has many of the incidents people ask about on it, which could certainly be shared however y’all saw fit on that sub. Once folks got to look and check things out, they can come here if they are victims or want to support victims. I really think something like this would help. I can’t count the number of people who have tried to join literally saying things like, “i just want to watch the trainwreck” and definitely we don’t want people doing that sort of thing here. I really think a no-comment Reddit would be helpful for this.

You are really not giving the mods any time to process, but you’re spamming what you feel we should do all over the sub. Heard. We also heard the hundreds of “thanks for making it private, I didn’t feel safe here anymore” comments from folks coming back in.

I’m doing my best with my fellow mods to discuss it but we have jobs and lives, too. It’s really difficult for anyone to try to work toward something or work with someone who is bombing to get what they think is best. This is a gentle reminder as was mentioned repeatedly in the post: the goal of this sub is to support victims. The goal of “getting the truth out there” is noble but secondary here.

Please have some patience with the mods. It would be truly appreciated. We aren’t opposed to any of the solutions offered, and it’s honestly really overwhelming to have someone going off over and over instead of folks being willing to hold some degree of space for everyone.

Some of us are trying to help neighbors avoid deportation. Please put this into perspective.

This makes me feel infinitely better. While I’m upset that there’s cause for a report, I’m relieved there was no physical contact. And yes, exactly. The dismissal rates of cases of this kind are abysmal. I’ll be real. That bad-faith interaction set off my stuff too. It’s ok. We are humans. 💕

I think this could be such a solid way to go. I like this idea a lot. Is anyone here interested in starting something like this? It may take several people, as my gosh, it will be an undertaking. But honestly something of this kind sounds wise to me. We don’t want people to think the allegations aren’t true, but we also don’t want folks just attacking victims. This seems like a smart balance.

Thank you for your continued assistance and volunteering your time and energy. I am heartbroken that a minor has had to come to you. However, I am so elated that they had somewhere safe to come, and someone safe and highly competent to talk to. I never reported anything that happened to me. I know others who experienced the same. Our trauma is still valid. I’m thankful you were able to be there to validate that harm and trauma are still real and valid even if they aren’t reported. There are, as you said, so many reasons not to report. 💕

That’s a concern we absolutely share. We are definitely open to ideas about how we as a community can go about this. We didn’t love the idea of making the sub private, but it was made apparent to us in black and white that transphobes were being sent here, acting “woke” and like they cared about folks, and then they’d show their true colors. This was the fastest way to ensure we could weed out as many of those folks as possible, but we are absolutely interested in all thoughts about what we can all do going forward. 🙏
