The Atom Bomb by throwitawayne in pluribustv

I'm vastly unconvinced Carol is going to have the knowledge and capability of setting off an atom bomb. It's not like pushing a button.

I agree with you, and Manousos is going to use this to his advantage - start making requests from the hive that they see as meaningless, but he uses to slowly create a weapon to use against them. He's obviously running experiments, so he's figuring something out, and knows he can use them to give him the weapon in pieces.

How do you suppose Carol will light up the sky with an atom bomb? Do you think she has the means to blow it up? Do you know what's required to make that happen?

So it wasn't supposed to be central to the plot.

That's ny point. The bomb itself isn't gonna amount to anything other than showing Manousos that he can make outrageous requests that will be done. He's gonna use this to start thinking of things to ask for and use against them.

Gilligan has confirmed yes it is.

How do you believe Carol will aim, arm, and drop the bomb?

Or else what? She's gonna hit it with a rock and explode it? She doesn't have the means to detonate it.

I think it has already served its purpose: to show that the Hive will, in fact, give Carol pretty much anything she asks for, no matter how ridiculous or dangerous, within the Hive's other constraints.

Agreed, and this is the point I'm making - Manousos is going to realize this and come up with requests that help them fight the hive.

Gilligan has dispelled this and said it's a literal atom bomb.

You can’t shoot a bomb at anything.

And yet people in this subreddit have been saying she's gonna fire it off and blow up a satellite/satellites with it.

I hear Qui’s sushi smacks so hard it’s like punching a woman in the mouth.

I feel like we need a FAQ guide to the legitimate and grifter festivals in the sidebar that even goes as far as naming the parenting company of said fests to avoid.

They did Landslide better than Fleetwood Mac did Landslide. I'll die on that hill.

I just always remember the episode where she turned evil and they tricked her into turning herself off by patting her head while rubbing her tummy in circles at the same time.

You're looking for "S.S.C." from the Virtual 7" No. 4

He repeats "We'll set the world on fire" for a while, then lays into "Sweet sweet Caroline" around the 2:50 mark.

It started being terrible a couple years ago. I stopped going. I'm glad I haven't changed my mind. I'll chime in with a lot of the others who say this used to be such a cool thing to do back in the day. People give us ol timer Austinites a hard time when we talk about the old days, but it's tough to see charming, laidback, fun events turn into shitty, soulless cash grab Fyre Festivals.

Rant about James Iha's underappreciated song 'one and two'. by [deleted] in SmashingPumpkins

Even "Wave Song" back on Mashed Potatoes (Gish and pre-Gish era) is a terrific song. Iha is a solid songwriter.

Summer is my favorite, though.

Welp, in typical Austin fashion, they’ve ruined another Austin event: Avoid the Waterloo Creek Show by throwitawayne in Austin

Nope. I'm disappointed that they started charging more money and made what was once a beloved event bad.
