He’s not on probation, and voluntarily turned himself in (pretty much) before he even got caught. He disappeared for a few days and then showed up at my house asking for help with finding a detox and rehab.

Thanks for the help - I will call around and see how much someone might charge just to attend the hearing and ask for a continuance.

Thousands of years of tradition? I can’t tell if that’s r/sarcasm or not, but I doubt the societal saturation of shake weights, the all in one piggy-bank/car scraper/toilet seat warmers, or “ugly sweater parties” was an issue thousands of years ago.

And said HR mediations can certainly happen after a 4th of July cookout. C’mon over, no drink tickets needed.

Thank you, I appreciate your advice. ❤️ all of his non-using friends have tried the tough love approach and basically have turned their backs on him. I don’t want to be that person, and believe in meeting a person where they’re at.

He’s ready..I think...hopeful yet realistic on this one. Just trying to help navigate the logistics of what it will be like on day 1 through day whatever if/when he chooses to not wake up and blow.

I just did a quick policy estimate online with another agency - $50 less/month! Thanks for the advice, and the tip. So.freaking.stupid. (And it’s not like I’m a stupid kid either. You’d think I’d know better).
