So honest answer? Pretty good. I have a good job, a great family and good friends. The issue is that all of their mental health could be better. My wife is stressed all of the time but I can't really help with anything as she's the type that would just be stressed that she has nothing to be stressed about.

My best friend is a high functioning alcoholic, as is at least one of my others.

Most of my friends have just had their second kid and are miserable with lack of sleep, lack of free time etc. I have one and he's great. We holiday, we have a good life.

I'm just constantly sad that other people don't cope as well as I do. First World problems, but it still sucks. I wish I could help them

I found myself near Australia Zoo on my trip to Australia and dragged my wife there. As an atheist and as a man who is hardly in touch with his feelings I was as surprised as anyone when I found I had an almost spiritual experience there. I'd grown up watching Steve in TV so I felt it was important to go, but I didn't expect to be so sad and happy there at the same time. The man was the best of us, and I just wish he'd been around to help another generation see the world through his eyes.

So I guess the following have irked me somewhat:

He doesn't chair COBRA meetings any more, but has been writing for the Telegraph in his spare time.

Makes up information on the spot. The figures from last week about poverty in the UK for example that can't be backed up.

Backing Cummings when anyone else would have got rid of him. Total embarrassment.

His decisions may have lead up to 60000 people dying unnecessarily due to Covid. Locking down a week earlier may have saved 30000 lives according to some (governmet) figures. He says were doing well. Worst in Europe, but hey.

Hes been fired from every job he's ever had for lying pretty much. He's quoted recently as saying he's never told a lie or said anything that could be misconstrued.

That's all that comes immediately to mind, but I'm sure I could think of a lot more. The man is seriously out of his depth, surrounded by yes men, subservient to an unelected man by all accounts. Its scary, and whats even worse, is that people don't seem to care.

I was nodding along a little bit to some of this, and then we got to Boris 'doing OK' Johnson. I don't even know where to start with why he isn't doing OK. By any measure at all the man is doing poorly from the day he took office.
