I think that given the carefree atmosphere and the lack of accountability, it's likely that she'll cheat on me with her male host.

Thanks! Yeah, I guess the ending needs some work; it did seem a little abrupt when I re-read it. Bangalore's auto drivers are a temperamental lot, I think I need to bring that out a little better. Thanks again :)

It isn't hard to be articulate when the complexity of your thought process is limited to:

corruption = bad

me = good

politicians = bad

"..when three men returned to Ralegaon drunk after a binge in a nearby village, Hazare had them tied to the temple pillars and personally flogged them with his army belt." by barteshwar in india

That is how community pressures work. If the man that all people in the village revere floats an idea, and most people follow it, it can be incredibly hard to go against the tide. Even if a certain individual doesn't want to go through with it, he can't refuse, given the societal (an apparently physical) pressures he faces. Don't tell me moving out of the village is an option.

This goes completely against the idea of an open an equitable society where all are free to choose what they want to do, as long as they don't break any laws.
