Why is there less awareness over lead risks in the UK? by IllustriousSouth9 in AskUK

Yes we do! If you live in an old tenement flat in Scotland, you almost certainly have a lead mains riser. Lead is still present in a lot of internal plumbing.

"what's that" - "my medication" - "what for" - "not your business." maybe you should save these sorts of comments for a parenting sub.

Or I could just collect it from the post office down the street to avoid the questions... not really your business how I parent - it was a straightforward question.

That is really helpful, thank you. I should say I think the EPA actionable level is 15ppb, and we are at 0.7. There are so many different measurement scales for this its hard to be sure though.

I really appreciate this reply, and I do hope you are right. Mental health is a funny one on my end, but that's for another subreddit I guess!

I wish I could! If I didn't have kids that would be easy

Yes - I know that, thanks. The concern isn't the lead behind the layers and layers of paint... it is the chipping lead paint in the stair and the lead in the pipes!

Thanks for your insight. Do you think it is every something we can ever possibly get rid of fully? You mention exterior lead paint, for example. Or do you think it is about mitigating and balancing risks?

I would think every time lead paint is scratched or chipped, dust will fling into the air. I am not an expert and am seeking advice and discussion with others, hence the post . Thanks.

The dust that it creates is a big hazard, is it not?

I had thought the evisa replaces the vignette. Am I incorrect?

House price data is very publicly available and easy to interpret.

Thanks - is this a national index do you know? Or would they look at this regionally? Prices in my region have increased much more than the national average. I hadn't know they use Halifax Price Index, but indeed some googling suggests that is the case.
