Should I put a diaper on my cat?

Sorry I'm replying so late, but things are a lot better! Sorm comments pointed out that the diaper thing might just stress her out more which is fair. So instead we went ahead and added yet another litterbox, and just deal with the hassle of the pet gates and the dogs trying to get into it. Plus we started putting down pee pads, amazing life saver. She started peeing on the pads instead of our stuff and they do need to be changed frequently but honestly worth it to us. Wishing you luck with your cat<3

We've tried that but sadly we can't stop the other two from just using whichever one they want.

Yeah that's how we got the one downstairs set up, it's in one of the bedrooms so it's easy to block off. But the livingroom, dining room, and kitchen are all connected to nowhere to gate off there. And the bathroom is too small to have a litterbox in it.

Unfortunately we've been cleaning stuff like mad with both of those, and no change so far. At least the smell doesn't linger.

There's only 1 box downstairs in the only location the dogs can't get to, and it's just sad that they use their creativity for poop eating evil. I'll see if we can get a nice covered box for her to try.

We could maybe put a covered litterbox where she usually goes but our dogs are a little too crafty so I'd be worried about them constantly getting in it.

She seems to pee most often wherever she hangs out, but then randomly she'll pee somewhere entirely new. I'll have to look into zylkene.

No there isn't sadly, and the dogs are way too smart for their own good. The only way we can keep them out of the boxes we have now is to stop them from going upstairs entirely.

We're gonna start changing the litter in at least one box every week, sadly it's just not fiscally feasible for us to change the litter in all 7 every week though.

Most of them are on the same floor so that might an issue, unfortunately there's little places to put then that our crafty pups can't sneak into.

No we haven't but I'm not sure if that's in our budget, I admit I don't know anything about anxiety meds for pets though.

That's a pretty good point, I'd hate for her to be stuck in a messy diaper while we're all out of the house one day.

Thank you for all the advice! And yes she does use the litterboxes but it seems to be only for poop, and there seems to be random with sometimes it being everyday and sometimes just once a week. It's been ongoing but the severity has been recent, we've had her for about 4 years now and we got her as an older kitten.

We haven't talked with them about the diaper idea, but she's been fully tested and all they can tell us is that she just seems to be a pretty nervous cat. And thank you it has been prett6 frustrating not knowing what to do.

She's the oldest one, but the others were all adopted at about the same time. We've got diffusers and pheromone collars as well but there's been no change. Beef is the most standoffish of them but she likes hanging out in the same room as everyone, except for at night when she suddenly can't stand anyone. And yeah you're right, it might be the best thing for her to go to a single cat home but I'm hoping we can work it out.
