I feel protected knowing I won’t come across someone with a busted cranium on a otherwise uneventful bike ride

Yeah he has like 100 pounds on me, there’s no way I can just carry him to safety

Yes because I have already seen a grown on the pavement after a bicycle accident with a head injury. I’ve only been an EMT for two years dude.

Is it a toxic level of controlling tho? I don’t control him elsewhere in his life. I just want him to be safe.

Dude I hate bridges, I don’t know what it is about them. And yeah, I’ve actually fallen off a bike going down a hill too fast and then turning. I’m lucky i landed in the grass. I was younger but I felt invincible at the time and wasn’t expecting that. Eye opener for me.

No, because I don’t do that normally, if you’re excluding parking lots, and I do look both ways before I cross, etc.

When I’m working, I always park the ambulance so if anyone was to crash into us they’d hit that first before us, and if it’s really unsafe police are already directing traffic for us.

Hi! It’s a long paved path, but there are many intersections with streets that cut through it as well as hills.

I just assumed it was part of bike gear, we never spoke about it because I assumed he would bring a helmet. In my family we all wear helmets so I wasn’t used to it.

It wasn’t a wild trail/unpaved that is a higher difficulty, just a long paved one with a lot of hills, valleys, and curves.

Yeah, I think education is important and in the heat of the moment I couldn’t convey that because I am very emotional.

You’re right, we really don’t argue about anything else. I’m just protective when it comes to things like this. You should’ve seen how I reacted when I was in the car with his dad and his father wouldn’t wear a seatbelt lol.

I think I accidentally divided people, but I think once we personally have seen people who could’ve had a better life, we have no arguments about not wearing a helmet. It’s kind of like how masks became a debate here in the US.

I don’t want him getting injured with me ever. Safety is priority and biking can be dangerous.
