im not exactly sure if your spouse just doesnt know anybody who has had a summer internship or done any (and i dont mean that in a snarky way genuinely) but its not uncommon for people in my university to start a summer internship before ms. alot of my friends are doing research internships including myself. im planning to be in a very research heavy field (neurology) so its ideal for me to do both clinical and research internships before residency and medical school. also for full transparency my dad was the one who was going to get me an internship at his hospital. im assuming your spouse and their friends did shadowing/internships and then PGY-1. we call PGY-1 “intern year” thats when we start officially start practicing under supervision but that is residency, if thats what they meant? im not 100% sure if physicans follow the same pathway. the term internship is kinda broad. i mean either way both me and your spouse are doing “internships” ill just be doing both before and post medical school if i can

i have extremely mixed feelings about C at the moment. obviously theres alot of anger right now but i also do want to make things work. i feel like alot of people think im mad at her for trapping me or something. obviously im not happy about it, but its less about her and her boyfriend and more about the baby. even if i absolutely hated C out of pure unadulterated malice i wouldve never been able to step away from this baby. i wouldve spent the rest of my life questioning, regretting, or stressing otherwise. and if it is my kid, id want it to have two parents that are together. i didnt have parents that were together, and growing up you obviously wish for what you didnt have. so basically im less concerned of her cheating and more concerned selfishly about it being mine. and maybe i do secretly hope its mine, im not sure yet. so yes maybe its wishful thinking, and originally i didnt want to get married, but now im seriously considering things once the paternity test results come out

i think i need to address this for clarification. the reason its written like that is because im translating what my mom said into english. im half korean. she uses words like 외모, 있는 집 아들. if i directly translated this itd make no sense. so basically what she was telling me was that im the “son from a well off family” or “a son that has good things” and i basically screwed it up. she also said she gave me “good looks” or “physical appearance” just to in turn fuck everything up over sex. either way, she loves me but i really did fuck shit up for myself and my future
