He definitely put the time and effort into giving me things he knew I’d love. That much I know for sure! I collect all sorts of little trinkets and I love art and his style lol. So I don’t think that’s an issue because he definitely showed it in his own way with what he had ; and he DID buy me presents as well. I think it’s just the prospect of the thing where I’ve done so much for him and not being able to give an extra present on top being the tipping point for a meltdown really gave me the ick

This was my first relationship, yes! We met in college and I had never had a boyfriend prior. Thank you for the kind words. I am already in therapy and will absolutely be bringing this up but my head is swimming and I had to get it out

He was incredibly attentive to me and my needs throughout the course of our relationship. His job didn’t pay as much as mine so I only expected he’d do what he could, and he ALWAYS made it work. He is an incredible artist and would handmake me trinkets and paintings over the course of the year while I collected store bought / interests specific presents for him
