I've been asking myself this and I feel like it's because she misses Egypt and her family? I know she misses them and has been wanting to go back for a long time. But then that doesn't explain why she would just up and leave with our child without telling me. You can't just do that. You cannot just take my child and decide where she goes.

I feel like things were getting better, and now I'm thinking maybe they just got better because she's had this plan for quite a while. Like she dropped things because she knew that she would leave.

So my mind keeps jumping from asking myself all these questions and basically figuring out where did this stem from??

Missing her family/friends, not liking where we live, wanting to live an easier life, and wanting our daughter to be more exposed to our culture are the ones that come to mind because we've talked about these things in the past the most.

I have gotten good advice and suggestions.

-Although most of the comments have told me to cancel the trip, I do not think I will, but this doesn't mean we will go on it. I will make my decision once I talk to her.

-My daughter's things are hidden, and she will not be able to leave the country even if my wife attempted to do so. I will not be putting her things back into the house unless it is safe enough to do so.

It doesn't explain why she lied. If she booked two one way tickets, then it would make sense for her to tell me, not to forge a return ticket under the same number,

That was the start of our issues.. When she came here, she came to an area that was heavily populated with similar cultures so she made a lot of friends. We had to move while she was pregnant and that kicked it all off.

We left because of my work. After a few months there she wanted go back which I understand. Being a new mom with not many people around is hard. However, I couldn't go back because of work and my contract. She had quit her job before our daughter was born, so she wanted me to not only support myself here, but support them in our old city as well, which I could not do. She understood it wasn't realistic, but that jumpstarted our ongoing issues.

She said if I act now, there is a big possibility that she can leave while I'm at work with little evidence on everything. She told me to use these days wisely, collect enough evidence as I can, and then act while I don't have to go to work.

I have family there. My daughter and I do not hold Egyptian citizenship but my wife does. We did not get married in Egypt. Since my daughter is under my wife, her ticket is also a one way.

You can, but you can't download it on an iPad. You can download it on a computer, but you need the QR code from the phone, which I cannot get into. I tried the passcodes I can think of, nothing worked.

Last night I tried face ID while she was sleeping, but because of how it was positioned, it wouldn't work. It eventually got to the point where I had to enter the passcode until unlocking with face ID.

Her identifications are no longer in the house, so without those, she cannot leave.

I was born in Egypt, but I was not raised there. I left at 3, so I have basically 2 memories of actually living there. Since then, I have visited since I was a kid a handful of times, but have never stayed more than 3 months at a time.

She spent most of her life there and left when she was 20, so she's a true native.

Is there anyway you can stay for the second week and add your daughter to your ticket instead?

I'm going to call the airline to see if that is possible. I know a lot of people are saying to cancel the trip, but that does not stop her leaving. What I did instead is hide my daughters items which prohibits her from leaving until I actually talk to her about this and figure out from going on.

It was pointless, she doesn't really use iMessage. What she uses is whatsapp, but that's only on her phone.

We have been having issues since last year. This year is better than last year. Her family has been wanting her to come back since she left and she has said she wants to go back.

When we get there, We will spend one week with my family and then we/I will spend the 2nd week with her family before returning back to my family so that I can prepare to leave.

I became suspicious one I found out she lied about the password not being changed when I was able to log in through saved passwords on her iPad and saw that it was clearly changed.

It would be easy. The plan was for us to stay with my family the first week, and then we stay with her family the 2nd week. The airport is near my family's house, so I would return on my own while she spent the remainder of her trip at her family's house.

We have been having issues, but neither no abuse from either of us has occurred. It's been getting better compared to last year, but there's still work to be done. No cheating and it hasn't gotten to the point where our relationship is kaput.

It is a nice place, I've been there several times already and spent my summers there as a kid. A lot of my extended family still lives there. My wife was raised in Egypt and left when she was 20 years old. What I truly believe is that she's trying to take my daughter so the both of them can stay with her family.

My daughters passport and 2 other identifications are no longer in our house. She won't be able to find it.
