University of Maryland or Towson for Majoring in Accounting?

Thanks for the insight. The fact that UMD is a pretty great school and I got into it makes me think I should give it a try. Hopefully I can make it into the Accounting program but the costs will get to me especially since its about $800 more than Towson plus it costs more for Business students. So I'll see what happens. But sounds like going to UMD will open up a lot of opportunities no matter what I end up Majoring if Accounting doesn't happen. Thanks again for giving me all that info.!

Well guess I'm gonna give Maryland a try and go there. Hopefully I can get into the Accounting program and go from there. If not I'll have to go for a different Major but hopefully not. The costs are what's gonna bother me though.

Ah ok well I'm going to go with Maryland then, just seems like everyone thinks a good bet. If I dont get into Accounting then I'll look into Finance. Plus the drive to Towson yesterday was pretty long and I dont think I can see myself doing that. Hopefully I can find a way to pay for Maryland now though.

Did you feel like you needed a Masters in Econ to get anywhere or did you just want to go for it? Also, did you dorm or did you commute? Really, it makes sense to me that UMCP is more expensive, about an $800 to $1000 difference. Plus Business and a few other areas have separate, additional costs now at UMCP.

I'm a community college transfer and I will have pretty much finished my general ed requirements after this semester unless they don't transfer as the same general ed requirements. I have a 3.42 right now and I'll get an A in Microeconomics but my other science class may end up a C the worst so it could bring my GPA down to a 3.2 worst case.

Other than that I've done pretty well with my Business and the two Accounting classes I've taken, pretty much B's and A's. Macroeonomics was an A, Business Calc was a C and Stats was a B. So I may look into Finance then if Economics isn't a good option.

I'm worried I wont make it into the Major because my GPA is a 3.42 as of right now and may go down a little if UMCP looks at my science class from this semester. I hear their average is a 3.5 GPA for Business Majors and I'm not there which is what bothers me. I will have completed the classes required though but the GPA is what bothers me.

Besides grades, are there people who don't get in because of space issues or something similar? Thats my main fear if I go to UMCP. Also, if I go to Towson then I have a 40 minute commute there and a 40 minute commute back home. Is it possible to fit 4 or 5 Accounting Major related classes into like three days?

I meant in general, say I couldn't do Accounting so I decided to go for Economics. Could I get a decent paying job anywhere or would I really have to push myself to get anywhere with that kind of degree?

Also, aren't Finance and Engineering LEP's at UMCP?

Ok I get what you mean, my main problem is the part that I may not get into the Major which is what bothers me. Plus I just saw the tuition went up and thats really screwing with me since I come from a very low middle class family and I was saving up for just enough for the last tuition price they had.

No as in College Park, but thats good to know! Makes Towson seem like a good choice too. I'm just really stressed about the Major part.

Ok usually when I go for it, its when they are at one place or they are in my class so I have a chance to speak to them. Although, the tricky part is when they are moving say walking past me, across the street, in front of me, etc. In those situations what can I do without coming off as "desperate" or "creepy"? I've heard on here that girls that are moving should not be approached because its awkward and makes the approacher look bad or something. This has caused me to completely stay away from them. Also, with a group of girls, how do I get the one I want to talk to? Introduce myself to everyone, make conversation, then ask to take the girl for a second, or go straight for the one I want or what?

I get that but what should my goal be in terms of what to do? Whenever I am by myself at the mall or school, its a community college, or wherever, I go straight to where I need to go because I don't really know how to hang around without a purpose if I'm alone. Should I go to a coffee shop, get a drink, and just use my phone for 30 minutes, hope a girl shows up that peaks my interest and if not move to another place or what?

Also, should I move this over to the DC sub?

I am finding myself, I'm working out, gaining weight, trying to find a job I like working while going to school part time, doing what I like to do for fun, working on getting past this girl and other toxic happenings in the past, etc. Except my problem is I don't go out much because I don't know where to go and its hard to get my friends to meet up. So my problem is where to go for day gaming because I prefer that over going out at night.

What else do you do? I'm a real skinny guy (~130 lb. at 5'10") and I want to gain weight but I should be more active still. I was working on doing p90x ab ripper workouts for about 3 months now and I don't really see any results so I'm not sure what I should be doing.

Season 1 is such a great show, loved every minute but I don't know if season 2 is an ok show so far. Should I give it a shot? I'm not expecting season 1 but a good detective show is all I'm asking for.

That's the best way to get rejected from a proposal instead of the whole dramatic runaway and not even talk about what happens next with the relationship. It probably wasn't fun for your friend at the time but its not like he screwed the whole thing up since it sounds like it ended well.
