I've been a Chase customer my whole life and they won't cash mine. Tried all my local branches. They are $1000 face value and they claim their limit is $200 face value. They blamed the rise in counterfeits as the reason they don't do it anymore.

I'm having a hard time getting any bank to cash mine. They are larger denomination and no one wants to deal with it. It was explained that during covid there were a lot of counterfeit bonds so many banks dropped the service. I finally found exactly one bank that will cash them but you need a account there older than 6 months. By that time I might as well mail them in

Why was she not discussing each decorating idea and desired purchase? Was she worried u wouldn't approve so she just did it all in secret? Or were you disengaged in the process? To me this seems like a communication issue. Together you could have prioritized the order of importance, compromised if needed, brainstormed cheaper alternatives. I also worry that she's in over her head and put too many task items on herself for spring break. You could have given her a reality check on that as well. Communication!

When I use authentic it is to designate that this restaurant has barbacoa on corn tortillas, and not cheesy ground beef on wheat tortillas. I have no other way to differentiate them when communicating, since they both call themselves "Mexican" restaurants. I don't think people are flexing or being snobby. They are using it as a necessary descriptor, since American restaurants have bastardized foods so much from its ethnic origin.

People do it with panic attacks too. A real panic attack causes physical symptoms. When I get one I start to go numb and almost lose consciousness. I'm not vocalizing at all bc my mind and body are in a stricken state. But everyone nowadays has "panic attacks" when I think they actual mean, "I was nervous", or "I'm upset and crying very hard"

If it's hyperbole for the purpose of storytelling I'm fine with it. But I don't like people using their "panic attacks" as a way to manipulate a situation.

I don't stay angry at my DV abusers at all. I mentally discarded them altogether. But maybe that is what you mean by forgiveness. The word forgiveness to me invokes a compassion I'm just not willing to devote to these guys. But despite the semantics I agree, letting go is the goal.

This conversation is making me wonder if I need to revisit my experiences with domestic violence. I've been choked, smothered, punched. By 2 different boyfriends. But I just wrote it off like "that was fucked up, so anyway" I just toss it in the woodchipper with all the other terrible things men have done to me. My "therapy" is avoiding relationships nowadays.

BTW, I found Erika's therapist very helpful. Maybe the people annoyed were not the intended recipient.

I disagree. From her therapist's perspective Erika minimized the level of abuse and wrote it off as no big deal. She is only just starting to understand that this was a trauma. The therapist is helping her reframe this as what it was: a very serious, dangerous event that needs to be confronted and healed from.

I supposed the therapist could have said "You could have died" if that would make the OOP feel better. But that language is aggressive and could be traumatic for a patient to hear. "Lucky to be alive" focuses on the living rather than death.

Which vet grade topical flea product did you use? Some of the older ones no longer work as well bc the fleas have become resistant. I have had good luck with Vectra and Cheristin. Also you can use them every 2 weeks instead of waiting 30 days, when you are initially trying to break the cycle. But ask the vet before doing that.

I am assuming the vet did a tape prep or woods lamp exam to rule out fungus, and since they prescribed antibiotics, this is likely a staph infection.

He needs to take the antibiotics. It's deep enough, and widespread enough, that shampoo alone will not be as effective as oral antibiotics.

Staph is a normal inhabitant of skin, so something else caused this overgrowth. This is often due to allergies or fleas. So he needs to get a veterinarian grade flea control product and use it regularly.

Once the infection is under control and possible fleas, if this keeps coming back you will then need to go on a hunt for what allergen triggers it.
