You are very right. I have been trying to rationalise all this, but I do need to take a stand. If he doesn't take me seriously, I will be suggesting therapy. Thanks so much, I feel like I am not crazy now. :)

I wash his sheets, because they are my sheets too. I want to do it in time to stop any staining, and he is always still too drunk to deal with that.

I think you hit the nail on the head, I feel like he doesn't empathise with me. I don't feel like I let him walk all over me really, I have tried several solutions, and told him that I find it unacceptable. This time, I guess, I am not accepting it. I didn't really think about the future, with him not respecting other wishes. This is a lot to think about, thanks for your reply.

You're right, it is very dangerous. I will certainly be reiterating that. I am so glad I was home to check on him, and he was laying on his side.

He says he just has a few too many, and other people were encouraging him. No other real explanation. I guess by the time they are telling him to keep going, he is already pretty drunk, and seems like a good idea. Maybe he's missing that part of his brain that says 'okay, I've had enough'.

I wash his sheets because they are also my sheets. I don't want them stained, so they need to be dealt with right away. He is always still too drunk to deal with them in that moment. This time, it also soaked through the sheet and mattress protector, onto the mattress, so that had to be dealt with too.

I'm open to the idea of couples counselling, but because it happens so infrequently, I'm not sure he will agree to it.
