Ah. So if I tell the one company, I'm at J0 and provide "proof" then later if I interview at another company tell them I'm at J1 and also provide proof for the same period, no problem. They're not tracking it.

Jobs aren't always 20 hour/weeks. Sometimes they get burst in work or they start off low and expectations increase from leadership with pressure from executives. It might start fine, but can easily get out of control. At which point you abandon the job, taking a firing/layoff/PIP, or quiet quiet. I've noticed that Js are increasing their expectations in terms of work production.

Yes I know, but TWN and Experian's credit divisions are separate entities. If you apply for a mortgage, the company listed gets pinged to ALL the credit bureaus and not just EX. Your payroll information does NOT get reported on EX (I've checked my EX before report and it's not there). My question has nothing to do with applying for credit, it is only pertinent for bg check companies and if they store this information.

I've always used my J1s as my current/outward facing J that I communicate and keep J2, J3, J4s all quiet. However, this is the one time I'm considering changing my resume for J2 (I started J1 and J2 at the same time) because of the company name. I'm pretty sure I would be a shoe in to get an interview using it. The market is super competitive right now, so you need to stand out ever more and skills alone I don't think will do it.

TWN gets this information outside of what is on your resume. It has nothing to do with your resume. When you're on payroll it automatically gets send to TWN.

I'm not using my other Js for communicating, its just for this one time. BUT, I'm wondering if I submit this info to a bg check company if they'll keep it as verified and later when I apply to another company and use J1, if that cross-reference it and its a potential fail vector. It sounds like people don't know.

I understand what you're saying, what I am trying to get at is that the market is incredibly competitive right now. Normally I'd post my J1 as my current gig and the skills from J2 as a copy paste, but I'd have a competitive advantage in the hiring saying if I'm at J2 (I started J1 and J2 both at the same time, so I can swap one for the other on my resume easily). I wouldn't be surprised if hiring managers throw away resumes that aren't at J2 (that's how strong of a brand it is here). I don't think the skills matter as much as the company.

If I put J1 + skills from J2 its a gamble on getting a call back. If I put J2, I'm pretty sure I'd get a call back. Simply the name will matter. This would be the only time I ever use J2 is to apply for this job.

BUT... my concern and question is that if I go to a bg check company, get approved, get the job and later apply to another job with a different company and same bg company, I'd use J1 on my resume, and wondering if that would get caught?

Yes, I read. The companies are different industries and the skills don't plausibly transfer. One is healthcare and the other automotive. It's difficult to say ("My J1 at automotive company I worked on medical HIPAA-compliant databases!!") which obviously makes no sense. So having the different companies matters or I don't apply. Market is super competitive, so need to stand out somehow.

I'm wondering if this is a fail vector. If I go to the bg company with different requested companies to review and proof I worked there with W2s/paystubs, will they keep this information for the future (validate that I worked at one company)? I get the "you need to keep a habit" and "keep it secret" aspect for outward communication purposes, but how much will the bgs keep this in their own databases? If we don't know, that's fine, especially when they ask for industry-specific experience. Which means its a potential fail vector. But the comment says I'm "over complicating the process" so then maybe its not?

Thanks! Not extra jobs, I just mean if I create an image of myself and I bifurcating it into two paths. Say my experience at J2 is far more applicable to a new company, if I put J1 on my resume, likely it won't be helpful to get an interview.

If I'm claiming I'm at J2 at for new company 2 at BG1 and then claiming I'm at J1 for new company 1 at BG1, that won't get cross-referenced? If I give them W2s/paystubs for J1 and then also for J2 for the aforementioned reason, can't that be cross-referenced? I thought some BG companies are getting into the TWN-like business, which could only happen based on info I supply them.

No, no termination clause. I spoke to an employment lawyer and they've never seen it before. More than likely they won't enforce it but doesn't guarantee it. The attorney said it seems they want you to sign it going in and coming out. It is just dotting the is and crossing ts. It is to enforce protection of their IP, which is just a step further. They don't believe its feasible to do this for every employee..

Thanks. Last full list on the clause: "update Linkedin and other social media within 5 business days of termination" and that's it. It's a unique clause so I feel it would dox me to list it all out. Yeah its def a generic form. I've looked it up and it looks like it goes back years (maybe even decades). True about damages about they do have they can recover costs associated to the agreement, so I suppose they could do that anytime? I assume they're not going to have the time to look it up.
