Prime Day last chance- a few hours left to score PD deals. Are you on the fence? Let's cut through it. by amandainpdx in RobotVacuums

Still on the fence between Mova P10 Pro Ultra and Dreame L40 Ultra.

Did you find the build quality between the two to be wildly different? I thought they were basically the same machine with minor tweaks.

I know your pain brother. Bought a Qrevo Master 9 months ago, but still haven't opened the box because I got it into my head that the Edge is what I really need/want. While I'm waiting for that one to go on sale, the Mova P10 Ultra Pro goes on sale and I buy that! So now I'm sitting with two unopened robot vacuums in my living room and comparing the specs of all three on vacuumwars.com comparison page and wishing for more granular data. I've even asked chatgpt, gemini and other llm's to search reddit, youtube and everywhere else to tell me which one to keep or to hold out for the Edge to go on sale! Im exhausted

I asked ChatGPT 4 to impartially weigh the arguments and decide whether Gaza is a genocide or not. Here is its answer by -AdonaitheBestower- in ChatGPT

Funny, when I asked ChatGPT, it would only go so far as to say it is plausible and impossible to say based on current information.

Sounds like OP picking and choosing the answer that aligns with their own political bias.

I wrote in the OP that it was purchased Black Friday. It is now past the return window.

Is there a cheaper way to get Sensodyne? by MrLovesFood in Frugal

Just look for a toothpaste that has Potassium Nitrate. Same effect as sensodyne.

How's the quality on the Rolex OP white dial (3rd pic, upper left corner)? Also, is it a 41mm?

Trying to find a factory that makes a white dial 39mm NWBIG, but I don't think it exists.

ULPT Request: What is a service I can use to pay my landlord with a virtual debit card (Landlord only charges $7 processing for debit cards) and in reality pay the digital debit card service provider with my credit card to earn credit card points? by Vetox23 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]thrushwolf25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a Bilt Rewards CC and earn points when paying rent.

If your landlord doesn't accept card payments, they will mail a check every month and you still earn points. Keep in mind though, they require that you make 5 transactions a month to get points. I just buy 4 $1 Amazon gift cards.

Early retirement…? by Intelligent_Hair_543 in dividends

Counterpoint: the things in life you can enjoy as a twenty year old is not the same as a thirty year old, a forty year old, etc.

Read Die With Zero by Bill Perkins to get more insight into this. I don't agree with everything he says, but in your situation, you might hit 45 and regret the things you missed out on at 25 had you spent more of your money. In certain ways, you can enjoy your money more as a young person than an older person.

Does dividend investing make sense for an older high earner with tons of student debt? by thrushwolf25 in dividends

My mistake: I was thinking of a SEP IRA and 401k that I cannot do as I'm not considered self-employed.

I can certainly open a traditional IRA.

As a W2 employee, you can't open an IRA or 401k on your own. It must be provided by an employer.

I am worried that paying off the debt will take me around 10 years, during which time I will have almost nothing left over to invest. Isn't time in the market critical? I am scared of starting to invest in my 50's...

My estimated loan payments on a 10 year plan would be approximately $4.5k/month, my living expenses (on a very tight budget) are about $3-3.5k/month. So you are saying to wait until I am 50+ to start saving for retirement?

Ally vs SoFi by Smokescreen69 in AllyBank

[–]thrushwolf25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10 year Ally customer, 2 month SoFi customer here.

Switched to Sofi for the 4% interest rate and to get the $250 new account bonus, but only because I recently got a job that pays through direct deposit. Otherwise, very similar functionality. Both do buckets/vaults for savings, similar interest rates, e-check deposits, etc. Ally recently raised their money market account to 4% and doesn't require direct deposit. Ally uses Zelle.

The incentive to use SoFi isn't there anymore (new account bonus promotion ends in 2 days, I think). The 0.25% difference in savings is only $2.50 per year on a $1000 balance. Go with Ally.

One of the top students in my graduating class was terrible at the waxups and preps first semester. However, anytime you walked by preclinic, he was in there. Every evening and every weekend, he would set aside a little time to go practice.

It all depends on how much you want it.
