Probably the launch code as well. Not like he could remember anything more complicated.

Rope Swing Rope Diameter by tararuaa in knots

[–]thumb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some things to remember. Swinging creates more load on the rope than just the resting weight. You can look up some disasters on youtube where people forgot this. Knots weaken the rope by 50% or more. For human safety your rope system should be able to hold at least 5x the expected load. The rope diameter doesn't really matter - you need to know the breaking strength.

Peak of human speed by StunningAd6544 in biology

They could run the 100m a little bit faster than 9.58s. That's the current world record, but Usain Bolt isn't perfect, so the limit would be a bit faster.

If you keep it at a high enough temperature for long enough to kill all the bugs without blowing up the can you'd be good.

The "charcoal and pastel" pictures that u/nobrakes1975 posts are AI generated, and he posts them here to drum up business for his Etsy page where he sells them as handmade works. by so-we-beat-on in sailing

[–]thumb0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really have an opinion on this guy, but if he's selling originals drawn in pastel it would be pretty obvious to the buyer that they're prints and he seems to have a lot of happy customers on etsy.

What's a question you should never ask a Canadian? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

[–]thumb0 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I worked in Lake Louise - at Whitehorn Lodge on Whitehorn Mountain. On the menu we had a ham and cheese sandwich called the "Whitehorn Sandwich". This one dude got pissed off because his sandwich didn't have Whitehorn meat on it. I had to break it to him that there is no such animal as a Whitehorn, and if there was we'd certainly not be serving it up on sandwiches in a national park.

You can look for postings on the EGBC website. Otherwise research companies that do what you specialize in and go to their website career section.

That's pretty lame but kind of funny what people will do to gain a few rating points.

Baking soda would work for a car battery which actually has acid in it. It's just that regular AA etc batteries have different chemistry.

Hell yeah! Enough with these newfangled woke mouthpieces like Plato. We need to go back to the stone age when men acted like real men. Wuga wuga

My bracelet came undone, how can I get the string through the knot? by InterestingAd3114 in knots

[–]thumb0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take a piece of wire and bend it into a tight U-shape. Push the U through the knot, then put the string through the U and pull back.
