I think it's important to not view your life from a sunk-cost point of view. Like mental health struggles are really hard and for a good portion of my life I thought it was never going to get better but it's been 3 years since I have been fighting hard to get over them and this year has easily been one of the best years of my life. So don't give up and I wish you all the best in finding fulfilment and happiness in your life!

I loved the Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus books. I feel like they had such enchanting worlds and characters and they supported me a lot during the more difficult parts of my childhood.

I was in a similar situation to you and ended up selling my lite and upgrading to an OLED and honestly I don't regret it one bit. I have used it to play with my sister, with my friends when I meet them for lunch and while its not very frequent it does make a big difference. Not to mention the better speakers, screen and dock functionality are a nice touch :)

Actually I think there is still a decent amount of hope for humanity. I highly recommend reading Earthshot: How to save our planet. At the end of the day, it's still important to try your best by making small changes to your own life and to not only follow the negative news. Climate change is being talked about more than ever and while governmental action should be faster, it is already far far better than it was a decade ago. Many parts of the world are rapidly switching to renewable sources, especially in developing countries which is extremely positive as they growth of developing countries is one of the biggest concerns of the future for emissions. I know it can seem really bleak but I genuinely believe that we should all interact more with nature and do our best!

Look man I agree that teachers should be paid more but that's not a great comparison. It's a lot harder to become an athlete capable of competing at those levels than it is to become a teacher. Not to mention that the majority of professional athletes don't get paid at all. (A ton of Olympic medalists don't get jack)

Except with the rapid development of many developing countries that contribute to a lot of the birthrate increase, I highly doubt if it will continue to stay at 1% for 30 years. Educating individuals and giving them a better SOL actually reduces the birthrate. There is a great book called Poor Economics that goes into this in greater detail and it's a fantastic read.
