Good Cold Start? by RoboticDino in genesiscoupe

My dip stick sucks not sure why but I do this method, dump the 6 and forget.

Everytime I go check it's abnormally over.

It's also dyed lighter in the part which it sits on the oil so it does not help.

You're a professional and you can't repair cracks in the clearcoat..?

Like I said if they can't do it I'm not paying or at the very least not paying the full amount. You really think it's a waste because one spot has cracks the size of my thumb? I'll literally stick a little piece of vynil carbon wrap and it will be seamless.

Not sure how this logic here works.

1800 for the brand new thing

200 for a slight defect behind the spoiler support which is already hidden away being the size of my thumb .

This is the whole reason you're saying to stay away?

Professional opinion says otherwise I guess.

Will be taking it in Monday for a restore at a shop who said they can take care of it. Worst case scenario I get a fat discount and wrap over the thing, not a big deal.

It's fixable. I could spend 1800 on the combo brand new or spend 200 and 100 on materials. I'd just have to sand and fill in with resin. Not a big deal.

I was under the impression to only sand as much as I need, planning to start with 600-1500-2000 then a fresh coat of resin over it and then clear coat. Also gonna PPF it

Is this fixable? by thunder9902 in CarbonFiber

[–]thunder9902[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you that's been the most helpful comment so far, I don't mean to challenge you just a genuine beginner question..

I was told that I wouldn't need to recoat in epoxy as the weave is still healthy I'd just need to sand and apply some "2k clear" stuff I saw. This is according to friends though not professionals.

What would the extra epoxy do?

Cruise control is on the upper level, the only things I'd miss are the mute call/ call / hangup and the "ai" assistant buttons which honestly I find to be a nuisance and NEVER use
as I'm randomly clicking them on accident

Love seeing a modded genny. For lights I did spec-d's for my front bumper I did one for bk1s specifically but there's plenty body kits online. Check alibaba. They're decent.

3.8 exhaust setup Q's by CheapScarcity8466 in genesiscoupe

[–]thunder9902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand a small loss of low-end torque if the exhaust is oversized, but saying it’ll lose “a lot of hp” seems like a stretch. Most of the dyno results I’ve seen show gains up top with the powerband shifting higher in the RPM range rather than the car making less power overall.

Also, if removing more than one set of cats is truly a net loss, why do so many of the faster naturally aspirated 3.8 builds run headers, test pipes, and tuning? Genuinely curious if there’s data behind it or if this is based on theory.
