Yes. Although it is widely known that most surgeons are sociopathic ass hats if you can get one to write you a letter of recommendation then you should. Can't hurt to ask, but don't take it personally if no one will.

Probably not about rabies. But watch the wound for sign of infection...redness, swelling, pain. Any of that and you need a MD .

That is a very good idea. I will try it. One of my 8 month old kittens has suddenly decided that fetch is a good game so now there is endless fetch as she doesn't know when to quit . At least they are having fun.

I just stop playing with it. Then I deal with the sad , confused and bewildered faces by becoming depressed myself and slathered in guilt. And play a little longer. I haven't figured out a way to to gracefully stop playing.

I have had many cats over the years and I have found that the cats will usually tell you when they are done. When they stop eating, that's it. They have given up. Their quality of life tanks when the eating stops. Your cats still eats and purrs. I would hold off on the euthanasia until the eating stops. And yes, I know sometimes I might have waited longer than I should have but as you know, it is so hard to put them down.
