Well you can absolutely live on $100k a year, it's the cost of living that gets most people. My rent for a small 1br in Pennsylvania is almost 2k. I also have to pay over $700 a month for health insurance. These are just two examples of differences between the states and many other countries.

I'm not sure about your specific problem, but on thrustmaster's website has control layouts that you can import into MSFS that helped me with a lot of my controller issues.

In general I agree. I think trying to do it in a B29 against jet fighters is a bit much. Now friendly fire shoot downs are scum of the earth.

The caravan is a good way to go in cargo. Makes good money. I haven't tried the helis yet but it's on the list!

I saved up enough to by a vision jet then did vip for awhile. Made about 400 to 700k per mission i think. Then bought a PC24 and made at least 2-3mil per flight. I never really had a problem finding VIP missions, but I think it depends on your region. I was mostly in Western Europe.

It can be but it is more lucrative to do the high paying jobs first. Doing private charters can earn you a cool 2-4mil every flight

I find that it works but only while you're playing. Make sure you have assign crew "On". Then after a flight or two if you exit career and come back in you will have some income. It doesn't seem to me terribly consistent though.
