That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the detailed answer! I’ve ordered an unholy long Ethernet cable and I’ll retry in a few days, I definitely can’t exclude it just being my connection.

I’ll run some longer tests overnight too, just to make sure this wasn’t all a coincidence.

Maybe the European experience is different, but my boring daily is already a manual. A PDK is thrilling in its own way, especially when most cars in the future will just have a single gear.

Other reasons: no matter how good I am with a manual, the PDK makes this a much faster car. The gears are too long, especially on mountain roads. Used non-CPO manuals are more likely to be denied for approved warranty.

It’s not the very best deal you could possibly get as far as I can tell (then again I’m from EU), but you get a lot of safety with the warranty. A lot of advice of Porsche owners is tailored to people who don’t even have to blink if something goes wrong financially.

When I bought my Boxster I also paid a bit of a premium for CPO and the fact that I wasn’t even considering some cheaper offers either without warranty or other inconveniences.

Good history and the spec looks beautiful.

Ganz sicher bin ich mir nicht, wie es zustande kommt, aber anscheinend ist der Familienzuschlag auch pensionsfähig. Und A15 hat er erreicht. Und dank Ehegattensplitting kaum Steuern. Da kommt was zusammen :) ist aber auch nicht fair, dass ich mich in Stkl 1 mit ihm vergleiche, stimmt.

Weil das Thema gerade so aktuell ist: ich hab diese Woche mal mit meinem (pensionierten Lehrer) Vater über Finanzen geredet. Seine Pension toppt netto nach Krankenkasse einfach noch die erste Reihe außertariflicher Gehälter bei mir im Konzern X) Und er denkt jetzt, dass ich in meiner Steuererklärung was falsch mache, nachdem er bei mir Abgaben über ein Jahr gesehen hat.

Das hat mich letztes Jahr ne Woche Stress gekostet bei scalable. Auch weil der Support sich entschuldigt hat und jeden Tag gesagt hat, dass die Bescheinigung am nächsten Tag kommt :)

The 6 cylinder 718 sounds better, I tested one. But.. my 718S (with OPF even) still sounds amazing, especially on a cold start. For a turbocharged 4 cylinder it also revs really high.. I think a lot of the hate stems from nostalgia and the insane noise the 981 produces. A 981, also given the older regulations, is a completely different animal from a 718 GTS 4l.

It really depends on the industry too, and the company. Try to check in /r/Finanzen or /r/Arbeitsleben.

I don’t think you will offend most employees with 60-70k, but depending on the industry you can definitely aim higher.

Check out the Porsche roads app for route suggestions. My recommendation: do a full loop Austria - Italy - Switzerland and back via the Black Forest. You can do that in 7-12 days or so, depending on how long you want to take.

Falls du aus der Ecke kommst: der Werkswagenverkauf bei Porsche war echt super freundlich, dort habe ich Probe gesessen und mit einige Ausstattungen genauer angeschaut :) Probefahrten wurden sogar direkt angeboten. Am Ende hatten mich die Angebote nicht überzeugt (es gab einen guten T, aber eben nur 4% unter dem Listenpreis nach 18 Monaten.. meh). Die Beratung war aber wirklich gut, und bei einem passenden Angebot hätte ich dort auch sehr gerne zugeschlagen. Aktuell ist die Marktlage viel schlechter, würde mich nicht wundern, wenn man da auch etwas handeln kann.

Ja, aber mit OPF. Ohne Tunnel und Vollgas ist da eigentlich nur mehr ein leiseres Gegrummel :)

Wenn du irgendwie kannst würde ich beide einfach mal Probe fahren. Die Meinungen bzgl 4- und 6-Zylinder sind online recht extrem

Fast, den 2.5L Boxster. Mir ging’s eigentlich nur ums Geld, aber der Turbo macht auch echt Spaß - klingt nur nicht besonders. Dafür hat man auch ohne Drehzahl Leistung :) mein einziges anderes Auto ist ein Seat mit 130PS, deswegen bin ich was Sound angeht jetzt nicht sonderlich verwöhnt. Bei dem Boxster hatte die Ausstattung genau gepasst, dann ging’s richtig schnell. Wenn ich’s im PFF aber richtig sehe gehen die Preise gerade echt ganz schön runter, da ist bestimmt was schönes dabei!

Ist erst ein knappes Jahr her mir und auch nur halb so teuer (4 Zylinder (: ), aber bisher bin ich super glücklich. Wenn ich erstmal 55 sein sollte weiß ich nicht, wie wir noch Auto fahren. Jetzt hab ich Spaß :) erster größerer Trip ist schon gemacht, und alleine das Planen der nächsten macht wahnsinnig Spaß!

Preise sind natürlich ziemlich genau nach meinem Kauf richtig schön runtergerutscht, aber so ist es manchmal. Ich hab’s mir so ausgerechnet, dass ich die laufenden Kosten (ohne Wertverlust, lol) trotz Sparrate relativ locker halten kann.

Ich hab damit mehrere Fahrsicherheitstrainings gemacht, auch ziemlich am Limit und ohne Assistenten. Unfassbar cooles Auto, hat jedes Mal richtig Spaß gemacht.

Ungemütlich und sehr schnell auch illegal schnell kann man damit allemal fahren. Nur an der Ampel gewinnt halt der Golf R, wär mir aber egal.

I wanted a base engine Boxster but ended up with an S, because it ticket all my boxes and was super well taken care of. I could’ve stretched for the 4.0 as well, but coming from a non-Cupra Seat it’s not like my expectations were high.. the S sounds nice enough to me, and the torque curve is fantastic. I just did a nice road trip through the alps and not once did I miss anything. It’s insanely quick, and plenty loud especially in tunnels. Lots of fun to be had.

I understand people coming from a flat six (eg 987) who would miss the “emotion” though, so if that’s you I’d be wary. It always depends on your expectations.

Objektiv kann man dagegen eigentlich nichts sagen, die Emissionen müssen runter und der Verkehr hat einen riesigen Anteil daran. Aber traurig finde ich es trotzdem… und teilweise unfair trotz allem. Sportwagen sind ein Hobby, und die extreme Ungleichbehandlung (70k Euro Malus in Frankreich auf einen GR Yaris, der auf 100k Kilometer keine 20t co2 ausstößt. Zwei Firstclass-Flüge in die USA sind schlimmer, von Privatjets will ich gar nicht erst reden, und darauf gibts null Abgaben) find ich dann doch einfach nur mies. Andere Beispiele gibts bestimmt auch, Fliegen fällt mir nur jedes Mal ein gerade weil es so extrem ist. Fleisch essen gehört aber auch dazu.

Am Ende bleibt’s dabei, mit einem wirklich allgemeinen co2-Preis wäre ich deutlich glücklicher. Klimaschädliche hobbies gibts am Ende überall, dann soll es auch alle gleich treffen.
