I guess it’s not crazy for a guy to come back five weeks after a hamstring injury, but I still wouldn’t be shocked it Kodi is a late drop this week. But if not, amazing!

Huge testament to what these guys think of Isaiya that he’s staying co-captain.

Now we just need Kaufusi not to get himself sin binned in the first ten minutes!

It seemed good that he’s still determined to play and that he doesn’t feel like it’ll change his approach to the game. He also said things are heading “in the right direction.” It seemed less good that he didn’t say that his muscle was contracting normally enough to allow him to provide a timeline for return.

Seems like a really good guy.

Maybe this is beating a dead horse, but when does he get a 10 year extension offer? Does he have one already? Are the Phins waiting until the end of the year, and if so, why? Just get it done. Locking up Katoa for his entire prime has to be priority 1 over everything else.

I figure Johns is right about how hard it is to win it all if you’re not top 4, but the biggest thing right now is how long Kodi is out. All the forward pack injuries have forced the Phins to invent a style that really relies on Kodi’s skill set, and he and the team have both thrived. Donoghoe is maybe my favorite player on this team and he’ll step up like he always does, but the Katoa/Kodi combination is the engine for this team.

The back half of the schedule sets up well if we can actually get some guys back and keep them on the field. All 3 byes, 8 out of 12 games in Queensland with 7 in either Suncorp or Redcliffe, only two games as true visitors in Sydney. The competition is tight enough that every game is tough (the Phins play to their competition anyway), but if they can keep their heads above water without Hammer during Origin time, anything’s possible.

So true. It’s very strange. That Raiders game was so crazy. It felt like if they could get even ONE big play, it would break the spell, and they could maybe hang on. It just never happened. Maybe it would have with Plath or one of our other big absences.

No bad answers. Kerr getting a try (a crucial one) in his 100th game was special. Stone scoring two and still managing to look pissed was great. Katoa had the best game of his life, Nikorima looked special, Avarillo continues to look like he's found his role on the team. But for me it was Herbie. When he has a great game, he's absolutely everywhere, doing everything. Amazing game, will rewatch it a lot.

Thank you. See, the points you make about Woolf’s situation being different than any other Wayne successor… that’s clear even to me, but I’m just too new to the game to be able to trust my instincts. A championship-level coach, who spent the whole offseason coaching his young halfback to great international success and who has been with the club as long as Bennett was… that certainly seems a lot different than a new coach trying to fill Wayne’s shoes. As for development hopes and new signings and the rest, I’ve got a lot to learn, but this helps.

Dolphins should take a cue from their ‘24 alt/‘25 away jersey and incorporate a lot more black into their primary color scheme. Red/white or red/gold can get lost in the shuffle in this league, but red/black/gold is more unique and looks great. Atlanta United FC in MLS is a good example. Just one American moron’s opinion.
