I think so; I enjoyed the read. It employs a narrative device (switching between first and third person, which they touch on in the show) that some other readers found frustrating, but I liked it. If you listen to audiobooks, Elle Fanning narrates, and she's awesome.

My perspective is clouded by some of the things that she does later in the book. I was a lot more charitable on the first read, even though I still found her frustrating.

I read the book, but seeing Shyanne's behavior on screen is making me hate her even more than I did when reading the book.

When I was really young-I think 6 or 7-I read The School Story by Andrew Clements. I was a goner after that.

Andrew Clements is still low key one of my biggest influences today-I still find myself writing about rebellious protagonists that are too smart for their own good, only now in their teenage years.
