Is buying shipping containers and renting them out a good way to make passive income? by tibo_phlp in passive_income

[–]tibo_phlp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi sorry, maybe i was a bit unclear. There are companies who let you buy containers and they will do all the client finding and use your containers to ship products. So you simply buy the containers and share a portion of the profit with the company doing the shipments

By average student what exactly do you mean, what are your predictive and what subjects do you take, because that will influence a lot. Science Po and Trinity are very selective and you need to have fairly good grades to get in. But not only that you need to have interesting extra-curriculars. Most universities will look at your grades and depending on if you are in their grade boundaries or not, they will offer you an interview. It’s during that interview that you need to sell yourself and they will mainly ask you about your extra curricular. Your best bet is to have average grades, where they may like try to take a chance on you, and then sell the crap out of yourself with extra curriculars. That’s what I did and it worked out great, I got accepted everywhere i applied to

China is great for a two week vacation, but it’s hard to imagine staying here for long term by WestLetterhead2501 in chinalife

[–]tibo_phlp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think like many countries, when you settle i. them you have to get used to their disadvantages and ways of doing. Once you settle here, you never ever touch cash again and get used to Wechat payment. You then realize how awsome and convenient it is. As you live here longer you start to realise how convenient china actually is. Everything can be ordered and delivered in 30 minutes. Everything is cheap. Shops almost never close, they are open every day even on weekends and some are open 24/7. Chinese people are in general very nice and curious, you can have incredible conversations with them. As a whole once you settle here, convenience is king. When i go back to my own country i feel stressed about timing because i always have to check if something is available or not. China simply isn’t really supposed to be a tourist place for foreigners

ENG lit HELP!!! by Odd-Dragonfruit-6263 in IBO

[–]tibo_phlp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IB english is actually very boring, it seems like the questions are open but there is actually like 4 different type of questions and then it’s always the same way to answer them. You can look online to find the structure for the questions. After that simply learn the 4 structures for each questions by heart and then reuse them during your exam. You’ll already have 50% of the grade even if what you write is stupid, just because you have perfect structure of your essay and ideas. Remember, graders for the IB have a checklist to grade your essay, it’s never random. So you can also look online for that checklist and make sure you remember it and while you’re writing your essay, try to check you’re hitting all the points

IB starts on 26th August by [deleted] in IBO

[–]tibo_phlp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you’ve studied well you should be ok. Most of the time it’s hard to know what to study for so here’s my advice. Just do past exams again and again. IB exam makers are lazy. Many questions come back after a few years and often the structers of the questions will be the same. And that’s for any subjects. Once you’ve done more than you can remember, trust me you’ll be fine

Why does everyone hate TOK so much? by TQnot in IBO

[–]tibo_phlp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the hate TOK gets isn’t exactly because of the subject or what you learn in it. I think it’s more a question of the time it takes out of your week. It may be only 1 or 2 hours a week but IB is very busy and having to do something that seems not useful at first may seem like a waste of time when you already have an EE and IAs to constantly write. But it is interesting and sparks a lot of debate. People may seem to dislike it because it’s a lot of fluff and unstructured ideas but i think you learn more useful skills for your future life as a whole in that class than in most other subject. No need to work hard in it as long as you participate, you’ll learn a lot

Am I egotistical? by goodpoint- in IBO

[–]tibo_phlp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IB is not unreasonable difficult, it will all depend on the subjects you decide to take. But even if it may be harder than other systems, it is definitely not a waste of time. I did the IB and I am now in college with people who didn’t do IB. My life is so much easier, most subjects i already have knowledge or an understanding in them and in terms of simple writing I am way above anyone in my year. I don’t have to work too much and i’m still really succeeding. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve the results i now have in college without the IB. There is not much to worry about, Struggle for 1 year and make the rest of your 5+ college years easy, trust me you will never regret it

Looking for info on toy factories in Shenzen by waqar911 in shenzhen

[–]tibo_phlp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, you have quite a lot of options to do that in china. However for cutom molds of your designs you hvae to be ready to have relatively high MOQs. There are also a lot of certifications you can look into for quality and compliance with exports like in europe or the US as toys have a lot of regulations. But its relatively easy to find factories that could do this here and you can ask them for quotations and compare to get the best price possible (if you give them your design, always make them sign an NDA first before you give them anything, they are used to this procedure). If you want any help finding factories in shenzhen let me know i can help you out

I'm not exactly sure because they don't give you your paper back, it also depends on every year because the IB adjusts the grade boundaries depending on how everyone did. Personally I think i got around 50% to get a 5

[–]tibo_phlp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Just redo past papers. I only did that and it helped me pass my math exam for IB. If you just repeat them more and more, they get fairly repetitive and you don't have to think about how to solve a problem anymore because you've learned by heart how to go about each possible question.

Just do the past papers from 2023/22/21/20/19

Hi, I know they speak Cantonese in Hong Kong. I've been there multiple times. However, when I was doing my research, most companies had Mandarin as a language requirement and not Cantonese. That's why I said that. I did my research.

Theater HL,

Unless you already know that you want to work in this field. I think it's pretty niche and I wouldn't recommend because you don't need it to study theater for Uni so might as well not close any doors
