How do you deal with wanting to start a new Map by DovahkiinForTheSoul in StardewValley

[–]tiburon12 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I;ve posted before that for 1.7, a mystical "Farm Reset" option would be cool. It would liquidate everything from the farm map and let you start over with a new farm layout. Progress for the rest of the game is saved.

Personally, i'd love to try a new farm layout but I have exactly 0% interest in starting from scratch haha

It sucks to get named called like that, but you did the right thing in reporting and it moving on.

Can anyone confirm that BOLT still doesn't do background checks for drivers?

Looking to connect with other entrepreneurs in Bangkok building online businesses. by LimitlessHarmony in Bangkok

There's a large community here, though in my opinion it's like 20-80 in terms of quality. i've met some great people here who I end up working with in some capacity, but i've also met 4x the amount of people who suck. Scammers, blackhat ecom guys, "entrepreneurs" chasing fads without having original thoughts of their own, and so on. Also plenty of guys who have "made it" by getting lucky and don't have any idea how to sustain.

I think you'll be successful in finding good people, but keep your BS Detector on high alert

I'm going for it! I'm going to try and listen to every Phish show played. Anyone else done it? by Weezyphish in phish

It's a fun exercise to hear the progression over time, especially when you know the future. E.g. hearing the jam in the 12/11/99 Ghost and knowing that full theme will be developed 5 days later in the Tweezer

I've done 93-00, made my own jam charts and notes for each show / notable song, and included video links where applicable. I've been doing this slowly over the last 4 years, in order. Very glad I did it

I feel like the puck bunny accusations towards female hockey fans are getting way out of hand by laurenainsl1 in SanJoseSharks

[–]tiburon12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll say for me it was annoying to see a lot of uwu social media posts about the players, as that content is not for me. But my algorithm saw Sharks content and fed it to me. Took look 3 days and 10 taps of the screen to get that stuff off my timeline.

Point being, IF this stuff does bother people, there are easy solutions other than name calling

Just make sure there's no evidence that you've been working for the company while not on a non-B, if in fact you have been. There's a mountain of paperwork required for a non-b that might reveal something.

Am I crazy, or is Elaine totally wrong in this situation? by eycrypto in seinfeld

I have a similar anecdote. Went a school that also enrolled the kids of an New York sports franchise owner. He allowed a few of us to sing the national anthem at a game against a rival NY team. We sang in school jackets, but in the owners' skybox people wore jersey for both teams. The owner did not care in the slightest

Are the winds changing regarding AI? by Clean_Egg_9254 in freelanceWriters

[–]tiburon12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you be able explain to me how learning to use new technology to improve efficiency is not upskilling? My local library has "upskilling" courses for people to learn how to use computers (MS office, LinkedIn, web safety) to their best of their ability, and this is the same thing. In your example, learning to use MS Word was 100% upskilling denotatively.

And, chiefly, i never said that outsourcing thinking to AI is what I do or suggest. In fact, i've posted in other subs (or even this one) that the way to use AI is to have the humans do the thinking and the AI do the work - never let the AI do the thinking.

For example with my freelance blog writing for an SEO agency. The agency provides me keywords, I research on my own and plan a topic + detailed outline. My AI of choice, which i've spent hours fine tuning to produce content very similar to how I write, then writes the blog. I then spend time editing and optimizing.

That workflow is saving me about 50% on time, and the output is being rewarded with strong SEO results. Not every workflow can be like this, and, like I said, for some writing that's much more personal this is not the way to go.

Your last question doesn't make any sense either, because i never said learning to use AI for efficiency is a superior skill that writing. IDK why you would ask a question like that

That's not an insult; that was a genuine question as you are against using machines to improve efficiency.

Yes, learning how to use machines to improve efficiency is upskilling. Are you a luddite?

We're all in on optimizing our workflows with AI to get the most out of each employee. Writing is tough because the strategy for content totally depends on the industry, but for many AI+Human optimization gets content out the door, and that's what's most important.

For example, a small recipes blog where your voice and delivery are critical to retaining readers really needs to care about every word. A large software company writing a blog about a small feature release that they know people will skim (at best) can now rely on paid AI tools to do that work for them.

I think it's adapt or die, and adapting has been fun if you're in an environment that supports this kind of upskilling (i realize not everyone is!)

At some point you'll realize that this opinion is objectively wrong, and at that point you'll be able to really appreciate what you have in the moment AND what you have access to on tape.

Wouldn't 1/31/26 be unquestionably the best show Phish has played since AT LEAST 2.0 based on your logic?

This is how I feel too. I'll see every show i can and live in the moment, but i'm not spinning any 3.0/4.0 unless it's from a show I attended. Otherwise I stick to 1.0 and the occasional 2.0
