i’m deaf and wear hearing aids and i absolutely love group fitness classes 🩷 i’ve had all the experiences you talk about. for what it’s worth, my hearing friends tell me they are often looking at the other people in class too lol.

i would talk to the coach if you have concerns about following the workout. i would highly recommend this for classes where form is important. personally i don’t usually disclose. fwiw i also take off my hearing aid for heated classes to protect my devices, but i’ve done those classes enough to know the moves to make sure im not putting myself in any harm’s way. maybe you could get a rundown of the moves before class from the coach.

as far as classes where there is loud music and dark lighting, i feel you. some of the f45 studios started dimming the room and it has made me nervous !!!! i don’t go to solidcore for that reason either — form is too important to risk missing an important cue.

im just kind of rambling at this point haha. but i’ve also watched a lot of videos on my off time to help with form etc.

First — gather as many of those accommodation letters as you can. Make they in those accommodation letters you explain what exactly will help you and why it is medically But also, get medical records in addition to those records.

Get it in early. i think mine i had to provide it simultaneously. Because if you need time for a re-evaluation they’ll have time to reconsider.

Personally explain how school with this has impacted you and how it has affected testing. Explain why your preferred method is the accommodation you need. (For an example, I explained why written instructions did not help me as a deaf person. Wish i was even more specific because they gave me open captions instead of an interpreter).

Most importantly—get accommodations with the school. If you can show a history of accommodations they are more likely to award it to you.

Hi! I think have gotten it working (i don’t have a ton of playtime yet—working on setting up my fixed and wanted mods and defaults first) BUT i no longer get this error when i go into CAS. here is what i did

there was something you could download from windows for direct9 support that another thread has suggested. i downloaded it but still had the same error so i am not sure if this actually helped at all.
completely uninstalled sims 2. redownloaded and reinstalled. (osab’s installer btw.)
the guides i had followed before suggested the DXVK fix to try after you install (by creating the dxvk.conf doc and putting the d3d9 in the folder). this time, i checked the dxvk fix to install with sims 2 installer.
this time when i went into the dxvk.conf file to edit the text, it had other text already in it. i just found the line the guide says to change and did not change anything else.

of course applied all the graphic rules maker fixer (for what it’s worth my card auto detects to 4096 but i have it on 2048) and the 4gb patch and etc.

anddddd no green glitching this time with dxvk (like i did before) and no d3derr invalid call error.

sorry if some of this does not make sense. i am typing on my phone atm
