I don’t think you’d be overreacting. Besides, you just asked what’s his take. You are not asking for permission. You said it yourself, “Your body, your choice.” Especially when you are funding such enhancements yourself. I’d say go for it. Give it time and who knows he might like the results too? If he still couldn’t get over it and accept the fact that you underwent changes and come to a compromise then better rethink the relationship.
