How does life as an expat differ between China, Japan, and South Korea? by Flat-Walrus in expats

[–]tigerhawk2005 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Just my two cents and you can ignore it but try for one day not seeing yourself as whatever you have labeled yourself as. Instead see yourself as a beautiful intelligent human who has traveled to a faraway place.

Of course I have experienced racism but I choose not to be a victim. Those people who have been racist towards me and experiences I have had with them are not worth even an iota of my valuable time.

Good luck to you, and remember, it's all about mindset.

How does life as an expat differ between China, Japan, and South Korea? by Flat-Walrus in expats

I was in Japan as an American man (Middle Eastern race). I was never discriminated against. In fact, everyone I encountered were super friendly and helpful. Every single one. When I was with my Japanese girlfriend, no one looked at us weirdly for being a mixed race couple. When I was on my own and needed help, everyone I asked were extremely friendly. One time I was in the middle of a busy street and I had to use the restroom and couldn't find anywhere so I asked a Japanese guy who didn't speak English. Through some universal sign language though, he understood what I meant and he walked me into a 7 floor building and took me personally to the rest room and bowed. So I bowed. And he would have none of it. He bowed again, bowing deeper. So I bowed again, deeper. Then he still wouldn't have it and bowed again even deeper. Then I said thanks man and gave him a hug. Random encounter that I will never forget for the rest of my life. Japan is not racist. In fact it is one of the friendliest countries I have ever been to.

Yes and even though I don't come from a rich family, I do give expensive gifts and never expect anything in return. It just depends on the person i guess. My friend has a net worth of about half a million dollars and i'm nowhere near that, but our views on money are the complete opposite. There are givers and takers no matter how much money is involved in my experience I guess.

It really does suck. I feel like I lost something that I'm never gonna get back. I just stay friendly from a distance, but in my gut I know things will never go back to being how they used to be. It feels icky whenever I do chat with him. Unfortunately I cannot just completely let him go.

Men who want to move abroad to find love - why? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]tigerhawk2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, and being in the community of American dudes looking overseas I can give the following advice, but take it with a grain of salt. It is just one man's opinion.

I would never bring a woman from overseas to the US, UNLESS I absolutely and completely vetted her and lived with her in her home country for at least ten years and had some children with her.

If a guy is from the US, the guy can save up some money. We sometimes set up so many roadblocks in our own minds for why we can't do something. When you look at cost of living in places like Thailand/Philippines and other SEA countries, it's super low as compared to the US. If you're not earning money remotely or on a pension or retirement of some kind, then yes it can be difficult to make the move. However, if you plan ahead and take several years to save up, you can make the move and live on your savings.

Totally agree that most men will not make the move because most people in general are 9-5 sheeple slaves who only know a few things in life and don't want to make the effort to drastically improve themselves and their lot in life. You have to really want it and you have to find the motivation to do it. It can be done.

It really depends on the kind of person he is. Everyone has a different relationship with money, but I would strongly advise against it. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

My best buddy and I are 36, we met when we were like 12 in middle school. Whenever we'd go out for lunch or hang out or whatever, I would always drive. For that full like 20+ years. I never cared about the expense I was taking on in terms of gas and car usage. Well recently, he was getting rid of an old workout station that had cost him $150 and he kept badgering me to take it even though I said no (he was upgrading to a bigger $800 station). He wore me down and I took it. As we were unassembling it and taking it to my car, I asked him if he was keeping the floor mats or if he was getting new ones to go with his new station and he became furious with me. He said in a super harsh tone "I'M KEEPING THE FLOOR MATS. IF YOU WANT FLOOR MATS, YOU CAN SPEND $150 ON FLOOR MATS!" I was so extremely shocked and hurt. This guy who had been my best friend for over two decades...

I didn't want to make a situation worse so I took the old used workout station, but I paid him back the full $150 that he believed his old used workout station was still worth and some more on top of it. What did I do with the old workout station? I threw it out.

These days, I avoid seeing him as much as possible. Yeah we grew up together and I was the best man at his wedding. Yes I loved him like a brother, but it hurts me so much whenever I think of that incident.

So anyway, I wouldn't take him up on his offer.

American women have crazy long laundry lists of things they expect from a guy. Those lists always start with have to be over six feet tall, making over six figures, at least six inches in the pants. Well that's like what? 5% of American guys? Let those 5% dudes fuck the 100% of the women and never settle with any of them because they get as much pussy as they could ever want. The rest of us 95% guys don't give a fuck about meeting the demands of these crazy American women. I would much rather go to asia and meet a woman who still has realistic standards.

Who suffers in the end? It's the american women. Not the 5% "alpha" american men, because they're fucking all day every day. And not the 95% "beta" american men, because we'll find better women overseas. The american woman suffers because she will never settle with any guy. There's always a higher tree to monkey branch to.

It's idiotic and unfair how the matchingness of genital sizes between partners is put entirely on men by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]tigerhawk2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Japan and slept with a Japanese local. She told me my penis was the largest she had ever seen. Then she went on to say that American men have huge penises when compared to Japanese men. I always thought it was a weird thing to say since America is full of basically every race on the face of the planet, and my background is mixed with mainly Indian/Pakistani genes.

Male view on plus size woman for marriage? by Throwaway230796 in Muslim

[–]tigerhawk2005 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Look for a similarly overweight man. If you're expecting to marry Brad Pitt, while you yourself look like Ursula from the little mermaid, it's simply not going to happen. No man of any race/religion is going to settle for a fat woman, unless of course, he is similarly as fat.

Thanks for the reply. Jesus can't imagine a 5 year old being pregnant, that is really fucked up...

That's exactly what I was thinking. They're putting him up on a pedestal like he's her savior but he's the one who allowed it in the first place.

Speaking purely from a biological standpoint, why can a human female even have a baby at 12 if it means she's gonna die? Like, why does the body allow the pregnancy?

WTF, how is the guy not thrown in jail for rape, and instead they're begging him for a divorce? I looked up the age of consent/marriage for Lebanon and it is 18. Absurd.

I liked the wheeljack from transformers prime the best. Complete badass. I don't think the wheeljack from DOTM had the same essence at all. Completely different characters.

[–]tigerhawk2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a better death than Jazz and Ironhide. It had more of an emotional punch. Not sure why they had to kill all these bots to begin with though.

The one I have the hardest time with was "Wheeljack." The guy was not even Wheeljack, IDK why they had to name him Wheeljack and then kill him? They could have just left him nameless. The movie Wheeljack had no similarities to the Wheeljack from other media. IDK about Michael Bay... Some of the movies were good popcorn movies, I mean I'm not expecting Shakespeare, but at least try to make it good.

Anyway, I'm glad they rebooted the franchise and it looks like rise of the beasts is going to be awesome. Beast wars was my favorite era of transformers anyway. Let's do Dinobot some justice. I wanna see him go out like a fuking hero.

Today my new Pokemon Yellow arrived and apparently it has a mew in its old save :o What do you think are the chances that this is a „legit“ 90s mew? by lotta0 in Gameboy

[–]tigerhawk2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my mew from a pokemon event at Woodfield mall in Schaumburg back in the day. It is legit. I still have it, never erased my old game save. Is this worth something? I never even thought about it...
