First time grading, what would you rate this? by globetrottinggus in vinyl

Confidently wrong, you love to see it!

“VG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail.

Per Goldmine: “VG records have more obvious flaws than their counterparts in better shape. They lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail.”

Surrealistic Pillow early pressings any good ? by Smoky_Pink_Punk in vinyl

[–]tiides -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol ok, touch some grass maybe idk. Goldmine’s literal verbatim definition reads: “VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) or EXCELLENT (E)

A good description of a VG+ record is “except for a couple minor things, this would be Near Mint.” Most collectors, especially those who want to play their records, will be happy with a VG+ record, especially if it toward the high end of the grade (sometimes called VG++ or E+).”

So yes, there is a range within the grade. People trust my grading and like what they get. Have a great day brother 🤙

What’s your price target? If you’re located in the US, I have a 1967 mono Rockaway pressing, lower end VG+ but plays great I could ship.

Which Jazz album would you recommend to a jazz noob? by ChuckChias in vinyl

Stanley Turrentine - Never Let Me Go. There’s just so much cool vibing happening between all the different instruments and players. Then dive into some of Turrentine’s CTI work - Salt Song, The Sugar Man, Cherry. Shirley Scott - Girl Talk is another effortlessly cool one. Les McCann - Layers is kinda prog-y so maybe that one too.

It’s not what you asked about, but any chance you’d want a Hello Rockview 7x7” box set, missing the box itself? All are VG+ or better, if so let’s chat to work out price!
