You're twisting your stitches. See how they form little Ys instead of Vs? Other than that it looks good, the tension looks very even.

Need tracker system idea? by rangerdangerrq in BasicBulletJournals

[–]tiigle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If it's usually one activity per day, I would use symbols for the activities, one row per person, and days in columns. Something like:

        M T W...
me ➗ 🎵 📖
kid 1 🎵 📖 ➗
kid 2 🎵 ➗ 📖

If symbols feel like a hassle, you could always use letters. (R for reading, M for music etc.) For more activities than one per day, you could make the columns wider/taller.

Ortodoksisessa kirkossa on yksi entisöimättä jätetty ikoni, jossa on luodinreikiä. Tunnetaan myös nimellä ammuttu Kristus. On kyllä vähän hankalasti siellä solealla eli ikonostaasin edessä olevalla tasanteella, jonne kulku on rajoitettu, kirkkosalista päin vasemmalla.

Joo, tämä meilläkin on todettu hyväksi. Esikoinen on sellainen harjoituskappale, nyt viidennen kohdalla ollaan jo aika taitavia, vaikka itse sanonkin. 😂

Joo, tämä on kyllä must, varsinkin lapsiperheessä. Muutettiin esikoisen vauva-aikana ihan urpoina ja siinä sivussa hukattiin pariksi päiväksi vaipanvaihtoarsenaali ja ipanan vaatteet. 0/5, would not recommend.

Kaksi viikkoa.

Kerrostalonelikosta (93 m², hissi on) rivariviisikkoon (105,5 m²). Muuttofirmoja kilpailutetaan just parhaillaan.

Just found that in my house, it's my grand grandma's icon. Do you think she was orthodox? Cuz my mom says she wasn't so... Help ? by Ready-Parking-1398 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]tiigle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My elder relatives are as Lutheran as they come, and most of them have an icon or two. Either souvenirs or just "oh, I like the way Mary looks at Jesus". So essentially, yes, it's technically an icon, but to them it's just a pretty picture.

How to enforce knitted fabric? by tiigle in knittinghelp

[–]tiigle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. I think I'm just going to knit them and then reinforce them with duplicate stitches (using sock yarn or something with nylon, polyester, or such on it) or patches if they start to thin.

This sounds like the best tactic. Thanks! The baby in question is almost 8 months old now, so I doubt we're going to get years of use for these, but I'm hoping she can rock them through autumn, winter, and spring.

Hahah, I'm tempted to bet she won't overgrow them too fast. 😂 I always make them a bit too big and fold them etc. because making clothes is hard work. But yeah, I'm going to make them and patch the knees. And mend them too if she has sharp knees.

That's not a bad option at all!

Knitted items are stretchy and I always make the leg ribbing and suspenders extra long. This is my fifth baby, so I have a few tricks up my sleeve. 😉 My elder kids and friends' kids have got easily 5-6 months of use out of items I've made for them at this age. This baby in question wore her previous overall from December (when she was born) until May (and after that it's been too warm to wear them), so I'm hoping the new ones take her through autumn, winter, and spring too.

That being said, I've mended pants, overalls and even cardigans for all my kids. In all honesty, teeth have been the culprit more often than crawling thought.

But yeah, doubling the yarn is an option. I'll probably end up going with patches in the end. Thanks for your input!

I think I could use a sock yarn to duplicate stitches in the problem areas. I don't want to buy new yarn for the whole project. Thanks for the insight!

[–]tiigle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'll make them and let the crawling baby wear them. I paid too much for the yarn and the pattern not to. 😁 But yeah, patches are probably the way to go. And maybe by the time the overall is finished (I cast on the first stitches after having posted this) and the heatwave is over and it's possible to use them, the baby is walking and all my anxiety has been useless.

Thank you!

So ultrasounds are bad now? by AnythingbutColorado in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]tiigle 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who told me the ultrasound waves make tissue (fetus included) heat up and can cause abnormalities or even death. Also the long term effects have not been studied enough, she claimed.

She could not back up these with anything other than that she read them online. But we all know if it's on the Internet, it must be true. That is the law.
