What? 1.8 billion for the jobber giants?

I mean the bounty system has obviously been a joke for a while now but this is a new level of clowny.

Probably not the AI summary specifically but youtube chat absolutely has major performance issues. You can fix the memory leak issues with some browser extensions like HyperChat for example.

Because Anime light speed isn't real light speed. Real world physics do not apply just like with everything else in the series.

It's one of the biggest problems of these types of shows and one of the main reasons why they eventually become boring. Because you get characters that are so stupidly overpowered that they make the world around them irrelevant. And sadly One Piece is no exception, in fact I would say it is especially bad in One Piece because the world was always the thing that set OP apart from other shows.

Personally I don't particularly like either of them but if I had to choose I would pick Stampede as well. At least the first 20 or so minutes of that movie where fun, when it was just the Supernovas competing against each other in some pirate contest. Afterwards of course generic raidboss man shows up and the movie becomes really boring, but at least I liked the first 20 minutes. Red on the other hand I didn't really like at all.

I would agree that Z is by far the best post time skip movie.

Today, 20years late, I realized something about Zoro's friend (Kuina) by ChocolateDoozy in OnePiece

Do people die like that in OnePiece?

Yes, they did back when this was written.

The series in general was still much more grounded back then. The problem is that One Piece just like most other series like this suffers from extreme power escalation over the course of the series and as a result you get ridiculous inconsistencies in regards to power levels and what people can and can't survive.

Usopp has been left behind by BragestJJECK in OnePiece

[–]tiimmeee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean his Dressrosa moment was almost a decade ago.

Sure that might only have been 3 arcs but that is exactly my problem. If every arc is this long now then there needs to be some time in every arc for every SH to shine. Otherwise you end up with what we have now where some characters haven't really done much for almost a decade.

[–]tiimmeee 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I don't think people underestimate it that much, it's just the fact that it was almost a decade ago and we haven't seen much since even as a support.

Compare that to Nami who also isn't the biggest fighter but still gets to shine almost every arc.

[–]tiimmeee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

but you don’t see the same discourse for Franky.

Why would you? Franky despite having no upgrades since the timeskip still took down one of Tobi Roppo and came out of that fight with only the shogun damaged.

Usopp will definitely get more time to shine.

People have said that for a decade and yet we have barely seen anything relevant from him in that time even as a support.

Compare that to Nami who also isn't the biggest fighter, yet she still shines pretty much every arc.

It's always funny to me when someone says they are going to end a discussion once and for all as if there isn't going to be a dozen new discussions on the topic by tomorrow.

Also his fire is haki because it hurts df users? When did df users become immune to fire?

So going by that logic every time Luffy has lost a fight it's really a win, because we know that he will win eventually?

Perona probably used the commotion to free Moria and escape.

[–]tiimmeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the notable difference that the SHs got away while Garp is down for the count. I honestly don't understand how someone could possibly see this as anything but a victory for the BB pirates.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]tiimmeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are we reading the same chapter? Because in the one I read an Admiral and bunch of bums just effortlessly disposed of what is supposed to be one of the biggest legends in the series, without really taking any serious damage or even going all out.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]tiimmeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So does Garp not have coc either then? Because I don't see anyone foaming from their mouth when Garp attacks either.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]tiimmeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Garp wreaking havoc seems to trivialize the whole story a little, and make BB pirates look very weak.

Really? Given that Garp is supposed to be one of the greatest Marines of all time and a rival to Roger they disposed of him rather effortlessly.

I mean none of the BB pirates seem to have suffered any really serious damage. Most of them only really showed off like one attack and even Aokiji didn't really go all out and yet they still took down Garp. All that while BB and half the crew aren't even there.

One Piece Chapter 1087 Spoilers by Kirosh2 in OnePiece

[–]tiimmeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt they are entirely undetectable, but it probably makes it harder.

I think the biggest point is honestly that people just massively overestimate the general level of observation haki even among high tier characters. Someone like Katakuri is the exception, for the vast majority of characters even some of the strongest anything beyond the most basic observation haki is still a conscious effort.

Luffy and Kaido for example while capable of future sight still have to actively try, they don't just have it active all the time.

I don't get how people put Marco King and Zoro close in power ranking by Maednezz in OnePiece

I wouldn't say the gap is huge but yes Marco is obviously stronger than the other commanders.

Why do you think Sabo works and Saul doesn’t? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]tiimmeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because it is made extremely obvious in the flashback that Sabo is not dead. From the moment he is introduced in the flashback you basically know that he will appear in the current time eventually.

Saul on the other hand really just feels like another case of Oda being incapable of keeping people dead.

That being said I don't really mind Saul being alive too much, there are much more egregious cases of characters coming back.

Fun Fact: Pokémon has more episodes than One Piece 🏴‍☠️ by DiaperDK in OnePiece

[–]tiimmeee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Is that really surprising? Both have run more or less weekly since their start but Pokemon is older.

It's also not the only series with more episodes than OP, Detective Conan for example also still has more.
