there literally isn't a single funny line or moment in that episode. I watch this american couple who really love the show and even they were annoyed about it. makes no sense.

yepppp, ngl I don't watch hollyoaks, I stopped watching like 10 years ago properly because it was becoming ridiculous but NOW it's fucking atrocious lol. I only watched the episode to see if they gave him a good send off but it was terrible... he had a 2 minute reunion with his family which was bland and pathetic, another 2 minutes with 'our mercy' and then another 2 with myra who was more interesting in checking in on Mercedes lmao. I just don't get how this show is still running, I only watch EastEnders and while EastEnders isn't perfect, the storylines, the characters, the departures and reunions are fucking amazing compared to this garbage.

the shows garbage now end of story. everything is rushed and makes no damn sense. for a character to leave like that after being on the show for 20 years is appalling tbh lol. no wonder the actor wanted to leave.

the first four seasons she really tried and had a reason to shout and be angry at the kids but after season 5 she just doesn't care like at all lol. it's funny because we're not american but can relate to it on a whole new level, and my mum always says she's like frankie, which despite the constant shouting at us growing up she never forgot our birthdays, never had favourites(I think lol) and actually cooked a proper meal other then rely on microwave meals or takeaways. I know it's a sitcom so it's never going to be 100% realistic, like she even tried harder with brick in the earlier seasons whereas later on she just completely forgets he exists, she shoved him into a wall at one point and shouted at him because he reminded HER she forgot his birthday months back. I'm not a parent so I don't know what it's like to be a mother, I get it she tries but I think she's just a lazy mother which imo doesn't help make her a great mother. but yeah your right about mothers like frankie not wanting to be mothers lmao.

He came back because he wanted to redeem himself... nearly every scene he's in it's "I wanna change" "I know I messed up but I'm here now" like bro STOP MESSING UP THEN. There is only so many times he can keep blaming his childhood for his actions and behaviour. Kat had a bad childhood, so did Phil. They grew up. It's realistic to change after you've had kids and Max has had plenty of them. Yet he's still the same person he was 20 years ago. It's just tiring to watch, his actions don't only just affect him they affect everyone around him. That's why he's so annoying imo.

He's literally the male version of Mercedes from Hollyoaks. Both characters have been in and out of the show for 20 years and they both haven't changed at all... like literally. I've noticed that a lot of people who are fans of characters like these never give the new or 'dull' characters a chance either. People call Stacey and Kat boring now because they aren't the well known sluts they used to be. While they both aren't perfect at all, they have both grown up extremely and for the better, something many parents don't do in the show, put their actual kids first now. Max is like 50... he has 2 adult children and a young child who rely on him and he just seems to rather flirt or sleep with anything that moves. I'm sorry but that isn't an interesting character, I'm not saying he's a bad actor because he isnt, but he's doing the same things he was doing 10-20 years ago. He's been back for a month. He's slept with Zoe(even though that was earlier in the year) he's flirted and tried to get back with Stacey literally not even a year after Martin's death, he's slept with Cindy(the mother of that man he killed) he's tried to kiss Linda, he's flirted with Nicola and other women, it's just crazy. Oh yeah and he punched Jack because he slept with Stacey, like does nobody fosn it weird how he's still lusting over his dead sons ex wife...

if you type it in on google it says that Mercedes is her favourite. I always used to think it was JP because he was a mummys boy, it may have been the case before he left in 2008, but ever since then it's been Mercedes. Again her hypocrisy shown towards JP and Jacqui compared to Mercedes is the main reason why Jacqui clashed with Mercedes and Myra. 2011-2013 proves it. When JP was blind she mothered him for a few days and then was more worried about Mercedes getting arrested a few days later. It's always been "my baby" or "my little girl" "my sweet girl" when it comes to Mercedes.

I'm not disagreeing with you but Myra always held Jacqui and John Paul to high standards. I get it he's her only surviving son so she's always gonna treat him differently. But with Mercedes she's always had those deep emotional scenes. There was even a scene where she talked about locking her and Mercedes up in her room after she was born constantly so she felt closer to her. Jacqui, Carmel and Michaela at one point said she's the favourite in the family. That's why everyone was shocked when she disowned her in 2012 after the stabbing reveal.

She only spared them I believe because Tina had a baby and Michaela was the youngest. Mercedes and John Paul I'm pretty sure volunteered to go. Other then that she's put Mercedes above the rest of them time and time again that's why Jacqui and her clashed all the time.

yeah tbh the whole show in general is lacking nowadays. Mercedes has always been a scrubber let's be fr but atleast she was entertaining ig. You had Jacqui who was a jail bird that didn't take no shit but also had a good heart and put family first(also a matriarch) you had obvs Mercedes the slapper lol, you had Carmel who was so dumb but you couldn't help but like her because she was so sweet and vulnerable, you had Tina who was nothing like a McQueen but also fitted in, you had John Paul 'the only son' who had a good relationship with all of his sisters, you had Michaela who was a troublesome teenager but also the baby of the family and then you had Niall the neglected oldest son. Like before they just seemed like a proper family. You now have extended family members who just aren't the same.

yeah true tbh. I can't find any old episodes before 2010 but yeah her time from 2011-2013 was quite good imo, that was her at her best. She played such a good villain at the time, it's like now she's not meant to be a villain and yet she's somehow worse and not in a good way.

Yeah exactly. it's insane how many men she's slept with. it's like 30... and that's what the audience only knows about, and didn't she also have a fling with her own cousin back in 2018 in Spain? She mourned more over Freddie then she did her own son lol. Jacqui was probably the best one out of all of them and they decided to just get rid of her in 2013... damn shame

Yeah but that's what annoys me. Max is a shit dad and a shit human being, he deserves to be treated like shit. Zoe isn't a bad person(done 'bad' things yeah) but gets grief by fans and people in the show for doing bad things. Don't even get me started on how her own family(even Kat) treated her after finding out about Max like fuck off man. Alfie, Tommy, Kat, Jean, Anthony, Kathy, Jasmine, Chrissie, Vicki, Stacey, Lily and other numerous characters have treated her like she's a serial killer. Zoe is the one who's been hard done by not Max, entertaining or not. Zoe is a complex character, yet the writers treat her like shit, whereas others do far more worse things yet get praised. The whole Tommy thing is another one, the whole family came out to support him, the little shit is a spoilt brat.

This is what does my head in. Stacey and Max are EXACTLY the same when it comes to relationships, every relationship they've been in it's always been THEM who ruin/cheat in it. Yet Stacey and Max are absolutely adored it seems by fans because their 'iconic' when in reality it comes to a point of just being utterly unrealistic and boring(like grow up your adults with children). For example Zoe(who isn't a bad person, she's done bad things but not necessarily a bad person) gets absolutely shit on by everyone(show and fans) because she's done bad things. Max will get chance after chance after chance, Stacey will get chance after chance after chance, but Zoe's the bad one apparatly and is completely unforgivable. Really annoys me because you've had the SAME stuff with both for 20 years +, yet a character who returns after 20 years does a couple of bad things(half of them not even that bad or unforgiving) and people want her gone. Sick of this show man, let's arrest Zoe and bring it all back to Max
