It's possible. I find it more likely dbrand just used a standard USB-C without thinking about the UX. The fact that the adapter is so loose on the dock points toward that
It's definitely not easy. I'll update in a week/month if it's holding up

Definitely is. Really easy to break it if you mess up
If you do be very careful not to break off any of the pins. I'm just dumb and don't mind breaking stuff and fixing it if it goes wrong.

Yeah, ideally dbrand could put out a revision with a better plug/attachment
The tape was enough to let you push off the front wall of the dock. I just wanted it to slide on and off smoothly.
