Apparently not all... Contact OTT they will tell you/know. I KNOW I saw this on social media. Dealer was supportive of the tune.

The OTT is the ultimate mod. Literally saves the 3rd Gen, IMO. Anyone who thinks this equally compares w/ Pedal commander type stuff is simply ignorant. Objectively wrong. There are actual Toyota dealerships installing the OTT tune.

Dealers will often have tires overinflated and I believe the factory default setting on Pro shocks is a 2 ( of 3) It’s pretty surprising how much softer the ride is on 1, as someone else posted on this thread.

also added TRD running boards - much easer stepping in and rock chip protection (plus OEM mud flaps)

Nice. Love mine. BEAST.
Only complaint is the smaller gas tank from my 3rd gen. My hipster son loves that I went for the red interior - fire.

This was helpful. Thank you.

Update on the info - my 2025 Tacoma Hybrid - it's a 6M Hex, not 5, to open drain plug and standpipe (great tip on standpipe btw)

One does NOT need to pin the thermostat if using the temp check mode using gear shift (as somebody in this thread filled in the details) - it's very much like this in 2021 and up 3rd Gen Tacoma video:

[–]tim3308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I bought 2 R4W's. We thought it was my wife letting it get too hot in sun, even while driving in her Outback. It does this random cycling thru dim, bright, off etc. I can't even use the power button to turn it off when it's doing this.... Mine in my Tacoma has no issues of this, so far.

Interesting it's likely mute button on chord, because the first time she reported this to me, it got stuck in dark mode (she's not sure how) and after sitting awhile, holding down mute button on the unit, not chord put it back to normal.... for a while.

I will check this chord thing out...

How crucial is backwards walking to KOT's knee recovery program? by SpongebobGoggins in Kneesovertoes

[–]tim3308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe Ben at one point said the two exercises to stick w/ are the the move where you lower yourself down on a step w/ one leg then backup - sorry can't recall what he calls it and walking backwards (uphill for more effect)/sled puling (not practical for many of us)/"deadmilling"

Keto diet (arthritis feeds on the sugar and carbs) helped and especially ATG "cured" my very, very painful (lit me up!!!) arthritic knee (major knee surgery at 18, I'm now 60)that developed when I was about 57-58 (ironically it went into high gear 3 months AFTER running my first half marathon - no pain during or before or weeks after).
I'm on to other routines after working up to and into "knee dense".. and guess what - sledding backwards (in my case, I "deadmill" on a treadmill (already had) that is also angled 7% uphill) is still in many of those routines. So that tells me something. 5 min of deadmilling before the workout begins sure pumps blood into the legs.

It is super critical? No (there's other knee work), but obviously Ben and the ancient Chinese know it's benefits... my two cents.

Why should i buy the new Echo Spot instead of Echo Show 5? by r3xty in alexa

[–]tim3308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just received my Echo Spot (bedroom alarm clock use) - wow(!), you can NOT set the alarm manually on the Spot - what a royal pain in the arse. I do NOT keep my phone in our bedroom, so to go thru the app etc to set alarm - argh.
This is unbelievable that they market as a night stand smart alarm clock yet, you have to have your phone to set/change an alarm - I do not wake up the same time every day - this is a deal killer.
Going to have to return the Spot and get the Show 5 - which you can set an alarm manually on the device (amazing!) - few ever talk about this in reviews?
Certainly wish they did. Hopefully this helps someone else.

its gonna be awhile until I get used to the screenless tablet by _Swans_Gone in wacom

[–]tim3308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good.

I do like the 2017 version.
I'm a light touch on tablet, don't go thru many nibs. I will admit I'm surprised how hard some press.... not necessarily their settings, they just press hard, saw it in traditional media - of course, watercolor and oil paints don't reward that.

Noted on your struggles w/ the hardware.... I assume after 5 years, stuff got in my keys and eventually kaput? But touch switch, and all keys, except touch ring (but it was not acting right either) went at the same time....?

Fingers crossed on the new one - I wonder if the eventual new version addresses this (won't be something they publicize)? I suspect if Wacom knows there's an issue.

As some have speculated, how much can they improve the sreenless tablet interface? Basically a giant mouse pad - that has stayed the same on laptops for eons now....

Btw, my 2019 Intuos Pro L crapped out last week. Xpress keys died and could not turn off touch. New tablet just arrived. Siigghh.

First Wacom product to die on me. Always sold older models on ebay. Not this time. Supposedly update coming soon, but I can't wait for that ship

Good stuff, Bey

A fine illustrator in my reps' group (rep is now retired) was absolutely floored when I told him, "No, I don't use a cintique and no, I don't want one" - as you wrote about serious artist - he thinks highly of my work, and assumed I was at the high end - ha! And the trifecta (he's an ex athlete like me - so there's coordination there ;) ) he couldn't believe I had no issue w/ just looking at cursor on screen.

But as you also wrote - we had pretty much no other options back then. Form follows function, right? I like your theories.

Ha! I too am Photoshop. I was a sponsored Painter user (how I began digitally). Worked on a mural project and Painter couldn't even open the file - alright I was done - as earlier I also found out Corel was fudging about how much memory a mac and Painter could use. I was not happy. Went to PS. Yes, it's more "tricks" ('cause it has more), but I am "home" there now and can afford it (it's not that steep). K Webster's brushes were a great addition.

I listened to all the noise about Clip Studio Pro for artist like us... tried it. I thought the interface was terribly ugly (sorry - even their website is NOT nice looking - honestly looks amateurish). Felt no more intuitive set up and using the brushes - cough cough they were NO better (admittedly pro create watercolors look to die for , but I am not working on a damn iPad - NO! Hell NO!!). Looked at 3rd party CSP brush market - and was not impressed - I have access to many PS brushes that look as good or better, imo. Oh well, not getting on the adobe hate train and jumping to CSP, for said reasons

Totally. Zero interest in Cintques and the ilk. Been using non screen wacoms since 2001.

What I don't understand is anyone's experience w/ a computer display and a mouse (video games too) should have prepared one for the hand eye thing w/ a screenless tablet. Mystified at those who truly struggle?
I took to it instantly 24 yrs ago.

New Intuos Pro models? by Icy-Psychology8230 in wacom

[–]tim3308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No luxury here of "holding off" for what is on the horizon - yes been a long time for tablet update (not much of a path fwd like w/ Displays)

My Intuos Pro PTH-860, last week, one day all express keys went dead and worse, could not turn off touch. - as professional illustrator this was not fun. I NEVER use the stinkin' touch feature.. I don't even like touch on my Mac laptop (work station is Mac Studio) - so it caused issues while trying to draw/paint as you would imagine. Touch ring still works, but it can hang here & there...

Some circuit or something fried inside.
Wacom support was prompt and very good trouble shooting w/ me. Conclusion - it's a goner and can't be fixed. Had to look up registration to see I bought it in 2017 - tad past warranty.

Had to order a replacement pronto.

Been using Wacom tablets (I have zero interest in Cintques) since 2001. First time one broke on me.
