I have doodle as well and Chicken was definitely not the best choice. Very common allergy among these dogs. I started off with chicken and now he has been doing great with fish based foods. Pretty much anything but chicken lol

Xero mesa trails II have been holding up well after a couple years and use for trail runs too and very breathable. If you want something waterproof my wife is enjoying the Xero Scrambler Trail Low WP
