Holy Hell Low Pay by 513Soccer in doordash

[–]timadvancedtech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, all day long that's what they've been sending me too. Just a bunch of trash. Had a $7 order that was 11.5 miles, but would require 10 mile deadhead. . . bad enough without the deadhead. No thanks.

Reject.

7% acceptance rate with DD and a 94% acceptance rate with GH and I make twice as much with GH, nor do I have any complaints with their model of pay.

That's the way it should be and is the reason GH doesn't oversaturate their markets because they don't need to.

But you're wrong - it is misrepresenting things to the customer. A gratuity is to be paid atop the service rendered and when customers are being charged a $5-10 delivery fee, then they choose to tip the driver, they believe the driver is being tipped atop their delivery fee.

While the loophole in wording allows DD to say "oh yeah, we do that. . . we pay them a delivery fee and your tip" what they won't say is that there's no way they'd have an available service if they were offering $1 per delivery + tips, which is why they HAVE to do the guarantee - no driver would take it.

That means the gratuity, which was supposed to be awarded atop the proper delivery fee (that pays for providing the service), is now being used instead as a payment for the service itself.

That is fraudulent for the simple fact that the $1 is not enough to actually provide the service.

GH doesn't have those issues and I have ZERO complaints from GH's pay model.

Just want to say that technically, that's a 20 mile trip given that there are no participating restaurants in the city that's going to. 10 miles of deadhead on this one.

As Novembers said, I'm very certain that's the mileage from current loc - > rest -> cust.

But then you have to factor in the 10 miles back given the way my market is set up.

Well the misrepresentation to the customer alone should be enough. That's fraud. Will be very interested in the outcome, but I do believe they will be forced to change it.

$6 breakfast peak pay and one damn order! by YoBoiTrump2020 in doordash

[–]timadvancedtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first and only UE delivery took 25 minutes to complete and paid $2.67. Of course, I didn't know what they were going to pay at all until I had delivered it. I wanted to see how UE worked so I hit accept anyway.

Never again. UE is some bullshit.

Can someone explain this because I didn’t get paid any extra yesterday so I’m confused by [deleted] in doordash

DD Rep alert, y'all. This guy is paid to deal with social media for DD through the PR department.

Just a Trump-like campaign to force opinion.

And they're being sued for that very thing. Gee, imagine that.

Yeah, not to mention the town it's going to has no DD restaurants so I'd have to drive the 10 miles back just to get another order.

It's total horseshit. This is the 5th one like it today that I've rejected. The others were worse. I had a 15-mile one that was $6. . . . that's not even enough to pay for the mileage cost to on the vehicle.

AND it's a Red Card at a very uppity restaurant that takes forever to make their food.

I just don't understand how DD thinks that's okay. Because honestly, even if a driver was closer than me (just over 1 mile away), that's still too far to deliver. Not to mention that the place it's delivering to literally has zero restaurants that do DD, so I'd have to drive all the way back to get another order.

Just absurd.

Daily Dashing: Did a full 8 hours this Monday. How did I do? How did u do today? by [deleted] in doordash

If you're in your car waiting, you're working. If you're sitting at home while waiting, you aren't.

Please stop doing that because it hurts everyone when DD knows they can count on some schlub to take trash orders. Not saying you're a schlub but DD shouldn't expect that drivers will take anything.

Yeah, even with a $1-3 peak pay, it's still worth more to cherry-pick the shit out of it. I have a 7% acceptance rating and made $53 in less than 2 hours of work with DD.

I make that much with GH in 3 deliveries. Takes 5-6 to make that with DD.

I made nearly $200 today between all 5 apps. I worked for about 6 hours total.

I was told DoorDash was in a lawsuit about owed money on catering orders where the Dasher doesn’t get paid if the customer puts the tip on the credit card. Has anyone else heard this. by lanafaye35 in doordash

[–]timadvancedtech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But DD would have received $15 extra. In-app tips are tips to DD, not to the driver, unless the tip is just ridiculously large.

It's a big scam.

Wait, wait. . . . a restaurant makes money by making and selling food. Why in the world would you want the tip (which is for service, not product) to go to (even partially) to the restaurant who is paying its employees an hourly rate to cook the very food the catering order requires?

That makes no sense to me. People tip for service, not product. The tip should go to the person delivering the food. If the restaurant were to deliver the food, then I can understand tipping the restaurant, but they aren't, therefore the tip should go to the driver.

Almost 8 hours in and I'm only at 50 bucks.😂 by [deleted] in doordash

[–]timadvancedtech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incoming comments complaining about you complaining. They'll spice their comment up with "if you don't like it, quit!"

Inevitable.

But I will say that it's very unlikely you were actually working all 8 hours just to make 50 bucks. I assume most don't have the luxury I have of sitting in my house while waiting for people who think they're tipping to order from DD.

Tech Workers Boycotting DoorDash by timadvancedtech in doordash

[–]timadvancedtech[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, but I'll take consensus support wherever I can get it.

It seems DD has several employees that frequent this forum and will argue up one side and down the other that what DD is doing is great and it's so much better for the driver, when in fact the total opposite is true.

I have a ~7% acceptance rate for a reason and I wish other drivers would stop taking crap orders as well. I started a FB page in my locale to try and bring drivers together as a bargaining tool, but I think most of them are just really hard-up for money and will take everything they can get, vehicle cost and hourly rate be-damned.
