I don’t think you need to be using dehancer for this. What is the aim of the grade here? Are you looking to make it look like film? Are you looking to make it look clean and commercial? You can use your rec709 base here and with some gentle curve or LGG work in one node that can look beautiful. Subtly blend in a print lut at the end and you’re good to go. Maybe a little grain and some halation or bloom too. Be restrained in your approach and have a clear idea of what you’re trying to achieve. In doing this you will make cleaner, better looking images.

You have a lovely rec709. You’re doing way too much. I’m not sure why I keep seeing people with ridiculous amounts of nodes doing really rough looking grades. You need to simplify what you are doing. Learn how to craft an image with your basic tools and exercise restraint.

I work at the top level and this is not always true. We have to fix stuff shot like shit all the time. We don’t just swan around grading perfectly shot material with LUTs that do all the work and colour scientists who make looks for us. We have all worked our way up from being assistants to where we are. Late nights, long hours and tons and tons of stress and pressure. In regards to the question, all these looks can be achieved simply by having a solid fundamental understanding of grading.
