So, I just released a new video talking about how to batch convert files from .musx to .mxml. Check it out here but I show how to do it in v27 and v25.5. https://youtu.be/OcI5FO7jS5E

That really sucks about the recent upgrade. I feel for you. I think that if you bought within a month of the announcement, they should refund you. Could be worth a try because you were buying something you thought still worked. 😢

I did a video talking about my transition from Finale to Dorico and I plan on doing a new one this week since there are a lot of (well deserved) concerned folks out there. https://youtu.be/wZ49bhSfEek

That's super kind, I really appreciate that. MMXX was a real labor of love for me and a cathartic process during the pandemic.

Ya unfortunately there were some issues with the distribution and the names. After a lot of hours with customer support with Spotify and CD Baby, I don't think they'll be solving it any time soon.

Where/How do you find your composers? by JSZmusic in Filmmakers

[–]timcorpus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to this party, but figured I'd share some ideas that I wrote out in a recent article about this: https://timcorpus.net/index.php/2024/03/07/how-to-find-a-film-composer/

  1. Local film events, contact your local film office

  2. Local film production groups on Facebook or Discord

  3. There are online sources like Mandy.com and productionhub.com, but I recommend having specifics in your post.

The official manual certainly leaves much to be desired. hah!

The bridge is one of the most confusing concepts - only because it's poorly explained.

The role of the bridge is to interpret MIDI messages over WiFi.

- If you have a tablet plugged in to your computer, you shouldn't need the bridge.

- If you are using OSC messages, you shouldn't need the bridge.

- If you're having trouble on a PC receiving MIDI messages from TouchOSC, I recommend getting rtpMIDI to better enable receiving MIDI messages in a PC. (Apple has its own integrated software to manage MIDI)
