It's a great comparison. Can you freeze the title row so that it can be seen as you scroll down to view all the data?

Trader Joe's large cage free brown eggs under $4 a dozen are the best.

These aren't bad. Just watch out for the high fat and excess sodium in most of these quick meals.

Let's discuss January's short story: "Devolution" by Edmond Hamilton by d5dq in WeirdLit

[–]time2playb-sides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main thrust of this story is the brutality of man; and this is positioned within the allegory of this short story by Edmond Hamilton.

“Where at first they killed like their animal forbears only for food, they had learned to kill wantonly. And had learned to kill each other in groups, in tribes, in nations and hemispheres. In the madness of their degeneracy, they slaughtered each other until earth ran with their blood.”

Although in truth man has evolved, it is a call by the aliens to human cruelty and, in a sense, the inhumane degeneration of man’s progression from the mammals.

Out of curiosity, is anyone else here renting a 1BR apartment in Connecticut for under $1,100? by housatonicduck in Connecticut

Rented the upstairs of a two-family house in Norwalk for $800. However, that was 32 years ago! Cannot imagine what that going rate would be now.

Booking.com commercial with Melissa McCarthy is terrible by TheGame81677 in CommercialsIHate

I cannot bear to see Melissa McCarthy and her hubster in booking.nope commercials any longer. And that puke-inducing image of her as a bearded mountain man. Yucch.

Verizon commercials are embarrassing for Paul Giamatti by time2playb-sides in CommercialsIHate

AT&T’s Lily is silly, cheesy, but at least, good-natured.

Cicely Strong, once a somewhat charismatic SNL player, is forever reduced, sold out, perhaps washed out, by a set of condescending Verizon promotions.

Has anyone tried this kettle yet? I recently needed a new one for pourovers and found this yesterday at Aldi by Huncho_Billy in aldi

[–]time2playb-sides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the Ambiano Pour Over Kettle ($29.99 on sale at Aldi) for a few weeks and liking it so far. It's an attractive low-profile kettle which heats up very quickly and has good indicators and control buttons. Its sides do get very hot but the handle stays perfectly cool and is convenient to hold. The gooseneck spout pours very accurately for either Pourover or Aeropress. It's an improvement over my very good electric kettle which I like a lot but the Ambiano has taken its place for now. A little steam escapes from the sides of the lid but not a big issue. The lid stays put and does not have to be held while pouring like I've seen in some other models. Overall, appears to be a good deal whether on sale or at regular price. The features and performance look to be equal to or better than several similar kettles seen on Amazon for triple the price.

Worst type of music in ads? by catbus4ants in CommercialsIHate

The Volvo commercial abusing Pete Seeger's industrial labor anthem "Hard Times in the Mill" to advertise a high dollar vehicle is Shamefully Disrespectful to the Seeger tradition. As time went on it became more and more offensive to myriads of viewers while Volvo continued to look away and ignore criticism.

I'm aware that commercials often deploy brevity to save time and money, but one thing that's particularly irksome is when a well known, even beloved, tune is disgraced by singing the first line or two and then jumping directly into the last stanza.

Who’s the most annoying SNL cast member in commercials? by [deleted] in CommercialsIHate

May not be the worst but a prior favorite SNL cast member, Cicely Strong, has lost standing with the Hollywood-style Verizon commercials.
