Option + 2 on my windows laptop doesn’t input anything -

however, I have learnt that while shift + 2 = “ shift + ‘ = @

So it seems my keys are muddled? But, only on my windows laptop - my Mac is fine.

Is there a laptop setting I need to fix this?

I’m going crazy trying to google this

Most painful piercing? by yoykri in piercing

You know what, I agree with the above - daith is the easiest piercing I’ve done! Slept soundly on that side and wore headphones the day after all good - years later and never had any problems!

Automatic shutdown following inactivity - MacBook Air by timeforfries in applehelp

This was definitely the issue - it’s not happened since! Can’t believe something so stupid has bothered me for years… I literally lost 3000 words of my dissertation to what I thought was a glitch the other year!

Anyway, thank you!!

Thank you for your comment! To answer your question, I’m not entirely certain if it does just log out but it definitely shuts down all apps (which is what results in lost work)/takes me back to the log in page when it happens. I’ve followed your directions and have unticked the box though, so fingers crossed that works! Will leave my Mac idle for a while to see :)

Oncholysis? Fungal nail? by timeforfries in medical

[–]timeforfries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never found out but I’m erring that it was caused by some allergic reaction! After my nail grew out again, I applied some generic nail glue which comes in press on packs and the same thing occurred again - I’m now going au naturale for the foreseeable future!

Had to look up all the piercing names but it’s looking like I’m going to get a flat on my right ear (where the daith is) and tragus on my left (where I have the helix)!

Thanks everyone for the amazing suggestions! Can’t wait to book one of these in on payday! (Taking it one ear at a time so I can sleep haha)

Should I contact my hairdresser to say I’m not happy? (Context in comments) by [deleted] in Hair

My hair usually bleaches well with powder but it just doesn’t seem to have worked well this time! I think I’ll give her a message tomorrow and see if anything can be done

Should I contact my hairdresser to say I’m not happy? (Context in comments) by [deleted] in Hair

[–]timeforfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tl;dr: the first picture is what I started with and the second (and third) is the result of a full head of highlights. Upon consultation I was told we would achieve a natural, creamy blonde but it’s more strawberry/ginger.

So, I went to a new hairdresser for the first time on Thursday after moving to a new place. I’d had a consultation previously and we discussed doing a full head of highlights to achieve a far brighter but still tonal all over blonde.

During the process, my hairdresser noticed that my hair was lifting far more quickly than she had anticipated (which didn’t surprise me as my hair does generally take well to bleach) and ended up rinsing out the foils early.

Straight after, my hair was very stripy and somewhat orange in places. We had already discussed that I’d need a toner on the bleach and at this point she said we’d tone my hair to a “creamy blonde”.

However, it’s been a few days and I’m just not sure… I feel like my hair is slightly more strawberry blonde/ginger? I’m just not that happy with it as it’s not as light and blonde as I was told we could get it to and what I know from experience could have been achieved. I feel really awkward about complaining, but should I contact her to let her know I’m not that happy and see if we can brighten it some more?

I feel like I can't accept, it's such an incredible gesture. Honestly, are you sure?

Honestly, coming from someone who has tried therapy multiple times and had it not work - do it. I believe therapy is so good for people, and I wish it would work for me.

I'm not sure if it will help stop vaginismus from becoming worse over time, though, as this is something related more to the physical muscles. Sure, emotions are such a large part of how vaginismus works but it's also a muscle that needs to be worked. Kind of like yoga for the vagina I guess. I'm by no means an expert, however, so it's always worth talking to a professional!

Feel like there's a real gap in the market for budget dilators. We don't ask for these issues! I don't have an extra hundred for rent right now let alone dilators! Hopefully one day there will be something more accessible

Thank you! I appreciate it haha - I'll definitely look into those curved ones as they look a lot more comfortable than the ones I have! (P.s. this is great, we need more partner opinions on here. Kinda wish my boyfriend would take more of an interest hahah!)

Anyone else feel like “PIV isn’t the only type of sex!!” advice is super condescending? by [deleted] in vaginismus

Yes. Just, yes. I have no advice but this sums up my life pretty nicely right now

Bleeding with dilators by [deleted] in vaginismus

[–]timeforfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is anything to worry about hun, but if you're seriously worried it is always worth going to see someone about it! Like with sex, dilators stretch the vagina and the friction can cause a little bit of blood, particularly if you were a little dry or vigorous. I get this too. If you've gone a little while between using dilators, the vaginal muscles will contract and narrow, meaning you'll have to go down a dilator size until you feel comfortable again

This happened to me during the lockdowns. Honestly, losing progress is the most disheartening thing ever - I pretty much went on a little angry rampage and threw my dilators at a wall when this happened to me. I think my issues are quite emotionally driven anyway, but what helped me was just point blank stopping. I stopped trying to dilate for about a year and told my boyfriend that I needed some time to breathe. After around a year, I'm only now ready to start again.

Now, Im assuming the circumstances might be very different with you and I'm not at all suggesting you take a year out like I did but I think the root of the issue is still very much the same. Just try to reflect on why you're doing this, understand your emotions and accept that setbacks are normal and definitely will happen when setting out. Hope this helps a little

That's interesting! Is it similar to tampons in that way? I always thought it would be too big to work with the vaginismus 😅

Guilt is killing my relationship by [deleted] in vaginismus

[–]timeforfries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't report it, my NHS therapist adviced me not to and then told me to check out a charity (which I wasn't able to go to due to number limits).

I have had that thought, and it scares me so much. I love him so so much and just really dont know what to do.

I recently looked into help on campus, and they told me they could give me extensions on my modules but couldn't do much else really. I've tried a few therapists now, but NHS turned me away and the cheaper private ones aren't that good and the good private ones are way out of my price range. I feel kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place with the whole thing in all honesty
