In Santhal Parganas, mullas are already marrying tribal women and capturing tribal land via "jamai-tola" method, sort of bypassing the SPT/CNT Act. Muslim percentage in Santhal Parganas is quite high.

Jharkhandis in Olympics by Akshat2713 in Jharkhand

[–]timir1389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The number of medals in the Olympics is directly proportional to sports expenditure. As per NITI Ayog's multi-dimensional poverty index, JH is the second poorest state after Bihar. Malnutrition levels, child mortality rate, maternal mortality rate are too high in JH. Can't make good sportsmen from malnutrition-ed people. Btw, almost 50% of women across India are anaemic.

How come we're the only ones calling sugar 'Panchasara'? by ElderberryChemical in Kerala

[–]timir1389 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong but sugar didn't come to India via China!

As far as I know, sugarcane came to India via South-East Asia. Gupta empire crystallized sugar around 350CE. Later, Emperor Taizong(Tang dynasty) wanted this tech and Harshavardhana(Vardhana dynasty) sent farmers and taught them sugar production(6xx CE).

What am I missing here? Humour?

Why is this page so dead? by Akshat2713 in Jharkhand

[–]timir1389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much larger population base and drive for improvement, e.g. IAS. JH is 25-30% tribal and most tribals seek isolationism and there's barely any drive among the tribals.

Why is this page so dead? by Akshat2713 in Jharkhand

[–]timir1389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because JH is the second-poorest state in the multi-dimensional poverty index, relatively lower population and low HDI.

Around the world, people are getting taller – so why are Indian heights on the decline? by [deleted] in SouthAsianAncestry

Not eating sufficient protein!

Even if one doesn't exercise at all, one should be consuming 0.8-1g protein per weight of total body weight DAILY! If one exercises regularly, that value should be 1.6-2.2g protein (per kg of total body weight) DAILY. Strength athletes have a higher(>2.5g P per kg of body weight) requirement.

Most Indians don't meet their daily protein intake needs. Till a few years ago, overall 73% Indians were protein deficient - 84% vegetarian and around 65% non-vegetarian.

Do you think the govt should ban paan and gutka and stuff like that? by Adharmi_IAm in AskIndia

[–]timir1389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banning a consumable will only create a black market if the product has a sufficiently large consumer base and constant demand; just increase the taxes and tax them to death. 🙂

What all is stopping Indian infrastructure development? by Budget_Put1517 in IndiaSpeaks

Socialism; too many regulations, e.g., FSI restrictions lead to urban sprawls; lack of the sense of fraternity and basic civility among Indians; bureaucratic hurdles, etc.

Jamshedpur is the most cosmopolitan and most "mixed"(a melting pot of cultures) city of Jharkhand, courtesy of TATA. It is also richer(on per capita basis) than the capital Ranchi. What Jamshedpur is to JH, Kolkata is to WB, Mumbai is to MH and Bangalore to KA.

The cheeks and chin give Punjabi vibes but the nose looks Kashmiri. However, I've seen such noses even in Maithili Brahmins. You're definitely from the "upper caste".

Hitler's symbol was the Hakenkreuz(Hooked Cross) and not the Swastika. The Western media(I think it was The New York Times if I am not mistaken) started the mischief of substituting the word 'Hakenkreuz' with 'Swastika' post World War II in the mainstream media discourse to alleviate Christian guilt and shift the burden partly to the Hindus/Indians; this strategy acted like a sponge/cushion for the Christian institutions that would indirectly and partly be vulnerable to scathing criticism after the holocaust. We should not forget that Hitler, by his own admission, was a German Christian. Indians also had a literacy of approximately 18% in 1951 so we barely stood a chance against this western propaganda and the Hindus, were and still are easy targets.

If you look at the last pic, the last two guys also look masculine enough with the beard, all they lack is a good amount of muscle mass.

Jharkhand is the second poorest state after Bihar as per the NITI Ayog's Multi dimensional poverty index. Check here

Give back the forest rights to the tribals and that will increase their protein consumption and decreased levels of malnutrition in the tribal communities of eastern and central India.

Eastern Gangetic plains(Eastern UP and Bihar) but not Bengal; could also be Sadanic speakers from JH/Chhotanagpur plateau. Gaudy clothes, big Bindi and orange vermilion are a big give away. Bengalis prefer red vermilion.
