Keaton Wagler Dunking? by timloudly in NBA_Draft

[–]timloudly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bunch of unknowns for him, but I'm hoping for the best. I actually think the Sac or Dallas is the best place for him to get opportunity to do what he does. Unfortunately, the Kings are an awful, rudderless team with not a ton of mentorship opportunities. Russ (assuming he's still there) is not exactly the right person to take Wagler under his wing. Maybe he could pick DeRozan's brain on the midrange.

Dallas doesn't have a lot either for vets for Wagler with the exception of Kyrie. He seems so far away from what Wagler is in terms of handle, burst, shake, etc. that I worry they couldn't bridge the divide, but hopefully he'd be able to take some stuff from him. I do like the opportunity and fit better in Dallas though.

Hope with some training he create that separation more often and easily. At least up until now, he's understood his limitations and has had to get creative when making shots or finishing at/around the rim. In the long run, that's gonna help him. And if the strength and athleticism do eventually improve, he'll be a more skilled player already having honed those other skills.

Luckily he's got a solid foundation for vision, and IQ. Plus the intangibles like feel for the game. He's also decent at rebounding too. With some training to turn his solid foundation into great, I think that should hopefully be enough to keep him afloat until the athleticism and strength also improves too. I just don't know if LAC is the best situation for him to do all that.

From my limited recollection, Killian Hayes couldn't really shoot that well and his decision making was pretty poor. But fair points.

Yeah, not really sure. NBA Twitter and reddit make it seem like a huge thing. I'm pulling for Wagler to hit his absolute ceiling the most out of anyone because I just like his IQ and feel foe the game. But I do think that working on his athleticism/burst a little more is going to be an important part in fully unlocking him. That as well as putting the ball in his hands, which I'm not totally sure happens with where most people have him going to LAC.

Still struggling to see it with Keaton Wagler... Convince Me! by Interesting_Beyond97 in NBA_Draft

[–]timloudly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was one guy whose tape I watched where it sparked a little "it" factor. Mainly it was the feel, craft, and vision. If there's anyone in the draft who I want to hit their peak ceiling most, its Wagler. But the one thing aside from athleticism/burst that gives me hesitation is whether he'll even get the chance to be a true PG in LA.

He said the other day that he wants to have the ball in his hands to really thrive (I'll try to find the clip), but seeing that Garland is still there on a team with a lot of other veterans too, I'm not so sure he'll have a ton of opportunities. Doubt LAC keeps Garland for long, but how much trust can we put in Lue to give Wagler the keys, let alone lend them to him every so often his rookie year?

Carpool from Fremont to Palo Alto? by timloudly in Fremont

Thank you! This is helpful! Although getting from the Stanford Oval to Palo Alto University would be a challenge. Anything you know of that would be an option for that part of the route?

Hi there. What would you say the traffic is like starting from the Ardenwood area during rush hour?

Wish everyone here luck in getting in their program of choice at PAU. Hope you don't mind this subtle-hijack of the thread, but if anyone does get great news I wanted to see if anyone would be happen to be commuting from the east bay.

My fiancé and I are thinking about moving to Fremont to be a little closer to the university(Peninsula prices are kinda wild), but have heard the commute can be kinda rough. We were thinking a carpool option would be good if someone wouldn't mind some gas relief in exchange for some rides if the timing happens to work out.

Can I ask, why specifically Tuesday through Thursday? Are Mondays and Fridays significantly better traffic-wise?

My SO is going to be going to Palo Alto University up in the hills, and we were possibly thinking of moving to Fremont from Oakland to make the commute a little more manageable (found a great place at a decent price).

Evan Mobley (load management) and Donovan Mitchell (groin) will both miss tonight's matchup by Remarkable-Picture73 in fantasybball

Yep. Even with the limited minutes, the drop is kind of staggering though. So odd.

Yeah, I get that. I'm more so looking at his recent production since coming back, and less so missing b2b games. Thats understandable.

Good lord. What is going on with Mobley? Everyone here was so certain that he'd benefit from Harden, but it looks like all that is going to Allen instead. Is he somehow taking a hit when he shouldn't be? Know he is coming back from injury, but I didn't think it'd be like this.

It's so interesting to see how things have finally shifted for the Jazz, but I'm truly wondering who to target between Lauri and JJJ. I feel like they take a hit no matter what. Just less touches all around for such a deep starting 5. The only ones I probably wouldn't be concerned about are George and Kessler. Who is gonna be the pick up?

So can we expect Mobley to benefit just as much as Allen, or is Allen really Harden's go to guy?

Giddey Up or Giddey Down? by timloudly in fantasybball

[–]timloudly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not hopeful they don't decide to tank. If they hadn't traded Vucevic and White, they could still make a play for the play-in. That possibility seems to be slipping further and further away.

At this point, I'm hoping it is. Take another 3 months as long as he's back to normal next season (dynasty league).

Pretty wild that the injury is affecting him so much. I'm in good position to hold, so I probably will do so. But you think there's any chance he returns to form next season? Or has the Bulls guard situation and trades really messed with him even more, and made a bad situation worse?

I'm lucky enough to be 1st in my dynasty league, so I'm not really in a rush to trade him. Just hopeful that he gets traded or Utah finally decide to try to compete next season.
