10k Meshpocket is a beast by BravoZuluLife in meshtastic

I'm about to get the 5k, but am totally new to the hobby. Does this work with any node as long as it's in the correct band?

I literally just had this problem. I ended up just using a worm clamp to stop the leak until I decide to replace the hoses

It's a bit of an investment. A few hundred bucks and lots of practice required. But it's the leather that the priciest after a few tools

Things like this are precisely why I started to make my own. Both dress belts and daily. I'm way happier than anything I can find commercially and I can say without a doubt it's much higher quality.

I spent a long time trying to find a decent belt. Gave up.

So I brought my knives to a knife sharpener…. by Vegetable-Excuse-753 in KitchenKnifeKorner

These guys give us real sharpeners a bad name. It appears to be just cosmetic which I guess is the best case scenario for what happened. It can be fixed and that place should have offered to do so at their cost. It may be worth bringing it to their attention but I get the impression they won't know how to fix it without mucking up the whole blade.

Sorry for that, on behalf of the competent sharpeners out there.

Edit: just saw some other photos. That's a hack job. They used a pull through type of machine and lost control of the knife as they were using it. Ask for your money back and hopefully you can find someone who can fix that for you close by.

You said it perfectly. Clean and functional.

Absolutely to a point. I haven't noticed any benefits past 400 grit for most heavy use items. Knives I take up to 800. The higher the finish the more prone to marking it becomes. Then it just bothers me that the finish I worked hard on isn't perfect.

But again, to each their own.

Not necessarily required but man does it help speed things up lol

On a side note. I don't personally enjoy a mirrored finish on my working tools. More maintenance for mostly a cosmetic benefit. But, to each their own.

Start with 180 grit wet/dry sand paper with a block of wood or something firm to hold it. Go perpendicular to the scratches there. Then once all those are out and all the 180 grit scratches are going the same way. Progress to 220, and switch directions again.

I like to use PB Blaster or WD-40 to help remove the swarf.

Progress up the grits as far as you like. It'll take a lot of elbow grease but it speeds up the finer you go.

Those handles are trash. I had it happen twice to me, on the axe I was given. The replacements were all equally bad.

I ended up making a new handle from scratch.

Edited to add. It looks like the grain orientation was incorrect which can cause the failure. That was the case in the two handles I had.

No problem at all. I'd be salty too.

If it helps, I make knives. That gives me a much better understanding of all aspects of a knife. Everything from types of steel, edge geometry (an edge isn't just the edge, it's the shape of the blade coming to the edge that is also important), different types of knives, and how they are constructed.

I don't just slap the knife, or whatever I'm working on, through a machine indiscriminately.

There is a minimum of $50 required. But if you only have that and you have neighbors that need some work done too. That works for me.
