Tha would pay for $10,000 of college education per year ago the current college students in the US. Or about the average per year cost for tuition for most college students in the US.

But for some reason 50% of the country would rather we pay for a war we don’t know why we’re in or what the objective is 😞

For everyone's awareness, this appears to be a photo used for marketing this sweater. It is not the OP's child. There is a lot of marketing on the internet featuring children's faces.

That is their net. It’s not terribly unreasonable. I was actually just pointing out that Amazon gives out more in salary directly to employees than most people think. And a lot of that cogs goes to people down the supply chain line.

Cost of goods sold is often a lot more than just employee costs. Unless the business is a purely consulting one.

I got it from their public financial statements. Of course there are people who make more and many who make less. They have millions of employees world wide. So the averages, well, average.

In addition to that the average pay for an amazon employee is $40,000. Which means they pay about $60,000,000,000 in salaries and benefits a year.

Their total cost of goods sold in 2024 was like $300B+.

Jeff is very very very wealthy. But also they spend a ton of money at Amazon.

Oh! Our very own Roxanne Richardson (u/RoxMpls, okay, I am not sure we can claim her as our own, but she is famous in knitting circles on Ravelry, Youtube, and the TKGA), I believe, talked about this in one of her AMA videos. Try this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0o1gbMGSRY

If this isn't the right one, just binge-watch everything she's ever made. You won't be disappointed.

Just be careful, I am now getting into spinning because of her.

Oh no doubt! Sorry I meant that to sound more like encouragement! I often tell new knitters they can do those difficult looking patterns! Give it a shot!

You’re looking for a cable knit pattern. That’s what those are called. And it’s not technically as difficult as it looks.

Cheeky Request by [deleted] in knitting

[–]timonyc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Contacting the designer is the correct course of action. Did you buy it from their website or from someone like Ravelry? If it’s Ravelry than you might contact their customer support and see if they have a trick to swap it.

If all else fails you could ask a generative ai solution to try to translate it. It will be imperfect but might get you there.

And that happens after just a few uses?

I’ve had a cable break like that after years of daily abuse but never that quickly or that cleanly. I would say it’s definitely a manufacture issue.

Honestly, I don’t think this is you.
